I'm gonna jump in and say great interview Tom! I like that you kept the
idiomatic way he speaks in there too; we can almost here the man speak.

Errmmm, I haven't finished it because I'm busy here but will the second
I get a chance.

Excellent. Cheers,

Ken

Hot interview. It's cool to hear him speak about the last few years as a
simple learning curve. And to hear the way things were with the jit/prep
situation. Can't wait for the album. His-tory.

Dope. Thanks. Like the other articles too. Good writing. From the heart (or so
it seems).

Fav quote: I told him why not just hire some DJs who want to play records, as
opposed to taking a piss at it.

Thanks for the link, Keleigh.

I'm planning on going to Porter Street for the first time tonight to see Shake.
I'd urge anybody else in the area to go check this out, too.
I feel bad that I haven't been able to make it out to Porter Street yet, but
this is definitely one that's got me excited.

I think Shake may be my favorite Detroit DJ, actually. He's definitely in my
top 3. Go see support this man if you like a DJ with a sense
of adventure.

Re: [313] Shake interview w/ Metrotimes

2002-04-18 Thread RC
it's truly distressing to read about my favourite detroit electronic music
producer in his current stateit's sad to read that his illness has
progressed this far

his no frills, hovering at the edge of the limelight, respect where respect
is due, and owning a unique sound attiude epitomise what I like to believe
detroit techno should always be about.

every dj set i've heard of his is always exactly what i want to hear - old
with new spun in an adventurous style..every record of his always
suprise and pleasures me.

i hope that shake keeps on keepin on - he seems like a man that has given a
large amount more to the development of electronic music, than he has asked
in return.

No, I don't know...being that Porter Street is a bar, there's a good
chance, but I'm not sure.

Here's the link to the Metro Times site with Porter Street's address
their phone number. Maybe give them a call?
