Re: (313) Surgeon - He is more than good
when a track of his is dropped, you know it's a Surgeon track. I dunno he and Ruskin sound fairly similar to me. I'm a fan of both but I think I prefer Ruskin as a producer (I've not heard him DJ), that 'Into Submission' doublepack is just awesome imho. Laters, m* i really like ruskin a lot as well, and comparisons probably aren't that relevant, but imo tony is head and shoulders above him in both production and djing.

I've seen them both play and personally I enjoyed Ruskin a lot more. Ruskin was just a little more funky and kept my interest going I guess. Whereas Surgeon just bored me to tears. -- dave.

Ditto, except for the bit about liking Ruskin a lot, although I heard he rocked London Friday night - and the track selection sounded superb. I'm ready to give him another shot. (313) Surgeon - He is more than good
Surgeon is by far my favorite european techno producer. Everything he touches is pure gold. I celebrate his entire dynamic tension, and counter balance catalogue, plus his releases on downwards, his remixes on labels such as peacefrog, and tons of others. His dj sets are fantastic as well, and he inspired me to often pull a counter balance workout, while djing, the tracks mix themselves flawlessly into each other. Plus, two copies of any of his records always set the crowd off. Plus on a lot of both the counter balance, and dynamic tension releases, the b-sides usually offer at least one detroit inspired track, usually full of ambience, chords, and subtle percussive shifts. He is uncomparable to any other techno dj, when a track of his is dropped, you know it's a Surgeon track. -Andy
