i dont like that record at all. stars is mediocre, kinda silly. the deep dish
remix is lame. imo imo. so it's not just you.

OK Naomi Daniel.

I've heard Feel The Fire fated on here several times - to the extent of:

>"Feel The Fire" now that
>will really set the cat amongst the pigeons will put all these
>21st century house pretenders to shame for another ten years

So been and bought it second hand, not felt it, come back to the list to see
if I got the wrong mix but no guidance was forthcoming.

Now I've listened to the mix on the Planet E Classics series which hopefully
is a OK one.

Can ANYONE explain to me what it is that's supposed to be good about this
record? I know we've all got our own tastes, subjective thing etc. but I so
don't 'get' this I wonder if my head needs an aesthetic readjustment
massage.

Walks away from PC as it bursts into flames?

RE: (313) pin drop / RE: (313) feel the fire (flame fest)

2005-03-03 Thread Odeluga, Ken
I quite like it. I heard it on a mostly cheesy Network compilation and
it stood out. I admit, it's not all that deep but it's the production
(natch) which lifts it above the usual syrupy vocal/garage house stuff
for me. I like the sharp vocal samples on the mix of it which I heard
(sorry not sure which one, but the track listing of the re-release looks
comprehensive, I think the mix I heard should be on there). That and the
drum programming will mean that I'll probably pick it up. If I'm
remembering correctly it'll be a good thing to use between 'house' and
'techno' in a set and interesting to hear in its own right. But the
above is just my tuppeny's worth of course...

Hoping this is OK as it's proper Planet E not a bootleg - others in this
series have been OK.
Also hope it's going to rock me as I have one saved yet have been
dissapointed before when buying this record:

Nobody answered : (
I'm hoping this is the mix if it's on this Planet E classics series!

I think you might be thinking of those 'orrible bootlegs floating around
lately.
