[313] Friday afternoon, Harmonie Park

2001-05-25 Thread Fred Heutte
Nice way to start the weekend. Spectacles lined up Reggie Dokes,
John Arnold, Dwayne Jensen and a couple others to spin outside
in Harmonie Park. Not much of a crowd but no more pleasant a
way to spend the afternoon. The weather turned sunny around 4,
but then a big storm cell came through around 6 to shut things
down, lots of lightning and rain. It's sunny again now. Gotta
love Michigan in May :)

Norm Talley, Glenn Underground and Dwayne (who got to play one
record outside before the downpour) tonight at Coaches Corner,
the bar across the street, I think the cover is $5.

We got to see the parking patrol in full force today, they were
around every half hour it seemed, and then a tow truck came
and took away the car of the poor soul who had been booted...

The label on Pandamonium 13 lists 'Planet' as the producer of 'Friday Nite',
with Debbie Welch and NJB credited as song writers. The version that Andres
samples is the Debbie Welch remix, which is quite different than the NJB
remix.

I'm not sure what Andres' connection is with the Debbie Welch remix, but
it's as good a song as any other to cut-up. Maybe Andres' track was an
alternate mix that was left-off the Pandamonium 12"?

And I could be wrong, but I doubt Andres is KDJ... listen to his production
and song writing. :)

Yep, Pandamonium is Norma Jean Bell's imprint.
But Andres apparently is *not* Kenny Dixon Jr.
I asked about this about a year ago on the list and someone
in Detroit (can't remember who) told me the real name of the guy
behind Andres (but my bad memory can't provide that
info right now). Andrew Duke
