(313) Mille Plateaux/ force Inc
Whatever happened to these labels? Does anyone have any up to date? I heard there are some sub-labels etc but haven't really heard anything. Cheers Mel
Re: (313) Mille Plateaux/ force Inc
I could be wrong, but I think Force Inc Force Tracks are both simply gone. I've seen some Mille Plateux items on the Mille Plateaux Media imprint, so there may be some life there. jeff Whatever happened to these labels? Does anyone have any up to date? I can tell you the following: they exist still the label was kind of taken from achim. they have released some new stuff as digital disco inc. there is some behind the scenes drama that I can't talk about, but I do not expect this label to be around much longer. sad too, because they released some good stuff. I have copies of some of the stuff slated for release, but at this point, the label may not be in a position to put the stuff out. -Joe From: Melody Ng [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 2005/07/25 Mon AM 08:40:12 EDT To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: (313) Mille Plateaux/ force Inc Whatever happened to these labels? RE: [313] Mille Plateaux
4. Mille Plataux. Clicks and Clacks is very interesting. I'm keen to hear opinions on other MP releases. The Porter Ricks self-titled LP from a couple of years ago is quite interesting. If you're familiar with their work, this album maintains their dubby, underwater soundscape feel but uses differing styles throughout the tracks, which makes for interesting listening. I wasn't too sure about this when I first got it, especially the track which uses distorted guitar and (perhaps?) live drumming, but it didn't sound like anything I'd ever heard before, so I stuck with it and it still gets a regular workout on my stereo - one of my favourites to turn out the lights and turn up the volume. I love albums that challenge your preconceptions, they seem to be the ones that really stand the test of time. Respect JasonB
