RE: (313) who is Dave Ball?/radio playlist - 22/5/04

2004-05-26 Thread Ken Odeluga
Hey Dan. I'm sure it's the same Dave Ball who did the first Ourtime record
which came out in 02. That's another label which techno music supremo ;-)
Alex Bond is associated with. The main track on that EP was 'Slack'. Alex
has got his gold ring-laden fingers in many pies you know?! That's when he's
not smoking cigars with 'em :-) I'm sure Alex will pipe up himself and
confirm about Mr Ball, as I've asked him the same question myself in the
past. I dunno what Dave Ball had done before his record on Ourtime though.
I'd be interested to learn more.

There's some here:

Good day,

Ken

hello

3rd of the recent batch of New Religion 12s came last week. It's by
Sonic Insomniac and is excellent - very 313 in flavour, I suspect it
will appeal to a lot of people on this list.

The production credit is to one Dave Ball, my question is, is this
the same Dave Ball of Soft Cell/The Grid/Psychic TV/Kylie fame?

Alex - can you shed any light on this?

Also, the Jazzanova mix is really good, a proper 'mix' if that makes
any sense (probably not)? The programming is brilliant. If anyone
wants a copy I'm up for a CD swap (don't do the soulseek thing as yet
I'm afraid).

Totally different guy, same name obviously
check his new record, I think it's great. Untitled (B2) is my fave...
deep deep electronics..

p.s. Dan, you met him down that Scion thing.
p.p.s Ken, I ain't flippin' Del Boy...! ; )
