Played with them in TO at Trancendence and they were unreal, never heard
anything that good before, nice fellows too. One of the best live shows I
have ever seen.

2002-07-11 Thread The Deliverator
I met one of the guys from PWOG while waiting in line for a Richie Hawtin
show in Amsterdam back in 1999. I don't remember the guys name, but he sure
seemed quite suprised that I even knew who PWOG was when I told him how much
I enjoyed their music. Really hunble, and really friendly.

Sorry, I just had a PWOG moment :-)

A

These guys were so good and got so little recognition -- Record of Breaks is
a masterpiece, definitely several years ahead of its time. I'd love to hear
the reaction if it came out on Force Inc today... ;>

Agreed. They *were* quite well and fairly widely known among artists,
anyway...I have a remix ep which features Coil and Hawtin (Reprogrammed).

i saw them a couple of times in Manchester and once at a Megadog party at
Brixton academy. No curtain, but they did perform their whole set sat on the
floor right at the back of the stage with their gear so basically no one
could see them. I remember being right up the front at the Brixton gig 9for
those that know it, its a big venue) - it was like 5.30 in the morning and i
turned to my right to find Richard "Aphex" James next to me dancing his @ss

The 'Out Now' 12" is amazing too - the b-side has two tracks of
Prescription-style deep house lushness that still sound fresh today. Looking
forward to heading this new collection...

Cheers,

Wow - remember them?

Artist: Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia (PWOG)
Title: The Key
Label: Terminal Antwerp
Cat. No. TA 001
Format: Double CD & Double LP
Release Date: 2 September 2002

Featuring 8 unreleased remixes of PWOG classics such as Kraak, Obsidian and
Dust and two previously available cuts from the Dutch masters, 'The Key' is
the ultimate PWOG remix collection.

Since the release of their milestone album 'Ov Biospheres and Sacred
Grooves' (kk065, 1991), the Tilburg duo have fused electronic dance and
industrial atmospheres and taken them live to rock audience's the world over
playing festival's such as Roskilde, Sonar and two sell out shows at the
Brixton Academy.

Via their incredibly hypnotic live shows and a new, characteristic and
somehow unworldly sound the Warriors have cultivated a style all of their
own that has seen them grow into an acclaimed trance / techno act whose
subtle influence has spread far and wide. From Peel Sessions to the mega
selling 12" 'Exit 23' (featuring 'Obsidian') and their refined live
reputation the PWOG have continued to move in unconventional ways. 'The Key'
bucks the trend once again.

Tracklisting: CD

Obsidian
Maenad (Charmopad mix) *
The Key *
Psoudoun (Golden Palominos mix)*
Dust (Decomposed mix) *
Out Now *
Kraak *
The Challenge
Pull *
Dust Dub (Butterfly mix ) *

* previously unreleased mix
