Ah well Maxim, I wonder what you will do when you discover that there are in fact *two* new KDJs bubbling under. The other one's cat number KDJ 32 and seems to be the fabled Prince-influenced 'Freeky M.F.' (a number he performed at DEMF one time I believe.) Now, I don't know if you can see the cataloguing details being prepared in discogs, if you're not logged in, because this is not an 'active' release (in discogs parlance) yet. Still here they are: http://www.discogs.com/release/887324 I've not heard it so, have no opinion. Still it's creating a little buzz, just like the other one. What do you all think of the new KDJ? Is it just me or is that a bullfrog and, perhaps, a mooing cow on the A-Side? (it might just be the speakers on my computer doing weird things!) cheers Jason

James Bucknell: anyone know where this is available for sale online? Vinyl Underground (http://www.vinylunderground.co.uk) has copies (and also 2 minutes worth of real audio clips!) so i imagine copies will shortly turn up at all the usual suspects - Hardwax, Inner City, Smallfish, Record Time, Bent Crayon, Rush Hour etc. rob _ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

From what I heard, I quite like it, along with his latest release on Moodz 'n Grooves - Soundscapes and Vibes. This KDJ release is three mixes of the same track. The Moods n Grooves release is more of a downtempo outing with one housey track that's similar in feel to the KDJ. What is the link with Detroit techno? Well, this is not a Detroit Techno list per se. It's a Detroit electronic music list, and the music that influenced it. To that end, KDJ falls under the Detroit part, the Detroit House part and the Detroit influence part (since he samples much of that influential music). :) It's a common misconception here though - it's not just a techno list. I've not heard too many KDJ tracks but the impression I get from what I have heard is that it's soulful, down-tempo house. Have I got it all wrong? Pls explain! Nope. You're spot on there. His older stuff was more toward disco house, and not all of it is downtempo. Certainly not as downtempo as Theo Parrish. Techno - house it's all the same brother. What is called house in one city is called techno in another. KDJ does indeed make souful, downtempo house -and that is why so many of us love him so.
