They got flyers out pretty late, but there's been a lot of promotion in the
last week or so in the city. They had a big thing in the paper about it
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2004/09/26/PKGAK8RJ0Q1.DTL
. There's a half dozen official after/pre/parties and a lot of unofficial
ones too.

In addition to Stewart Walker, Jon Selway is playing a party friday night
http://www.tokyoelectric.com/ , and Christian Smith is doing a 3 table set
friday night at one of the "official" love parade preparties (Info Line:

Regarding Wang (dropped into my mailbox this morning):

This Saturday's WANG is going be a very special one for us.
We're very sad to announce, that after four great years,
this will be our last party at the Premises.
Due to situations totally beyond our control,
we will no longer be able to do parties there any more.
We are going to be very sad to leave our home for the last four years,
having had some of the most amazing nights of our lives there,
but nothing lasts forever and we will be moving on to new ventures at other
locations.

For the last party at The Premises we have got together a line up that
includes
some of our staunchest supporters,
some of our high-lights of the last 4 years,
and maybe a surprise or two

And being bank holiday we'll all have time to fully recover

Brixton's where it's at! You can definitely find inspiration there and
the cab/bus fares home are cheaper.

You won't find inspiration in Croydon, maybe negative inspiration. Yet
Stewart's appraisal of the "Manhattan of the South", whilst factually
correct, does miss the point that you can live on the fringes of London,
enjoy all it's cultural benefits, fly anywhere in the world (superb
transport links - all major airports in London are less than 1 hour
away),
and not have to pay the rent that comes with living in the centre of the
capital itself. There is Big Apple, and plus of course europe' s
largest
2nd hand record shop.

But I would'nt recommend it!

I'm missing about Croydon, but to me its just a dirty big hellhole full
of
15 year old crackheads, care in the community and people who generally
look

I know I have a tendency to rush through tracks, but if I'm working on
music I can easily do two or three songs in a day...

A lot of it depends on how comfortable you are with your gear... A lot
of it also has to do with the fact that I will often make like 4 tracks
that are all based around the same idea but one will be jungle, one will
be twostep, one will be techno and one will just be really weird or
something to that effect... So I guess unless I wanted to tout my self
as all high-art and release concept CDs I wouldn't really release all of
them.

Well, to clarify,
I've recorded about 3-4 cds worth of music in 3 years. About 160 minutes
of music imo is worthy of release. So I compiled ~1/2 of those songs onto 1
cd, which I indeed copied 32 times, which is what I'm giving copies away of.
Sorry to confuse with the wording in my original post.

1st, i noticed that united has e-fares for travel between sat and tues from

2nd, i've been burning cds, many cds (well, 33 to be precise) of my music.
kind of a 'best of' (imo) of my work over the last ~3 years. i call it "at
ease, disease." but i was gonna say, if there is anyone who is interested
in having a copy, they are demos; i intend to give most of them away in
detroit this weekend. if you might want one, we could perhaps arrange to
meet, and i could give you one. Maybe i can arrange to set the cds at one
of the tables outside/in/around the festival, and you can pick one up if you
want. or not maybe email if you are interested. we will work somethiong
out.

well, i hope to meet some of the people from this list this weekend. i hope
the rain ceases or at least slows. oh well, best wishes,
