I just picked up one of the new theo - natural aspirtaions with Split Me
Open
on it, such a beautiful track. Anyway, they have all three at dancetracks
in nyc for $7.50US . Buy buy!

oops, sorry to talk about theo again (what is it? 60 % of posts on the
lists are about him?)

but, whats this! is this the new sound signature?
I was loving that last natural aspirations thing.

or is this on the new LP and I'm just being very stupid?

while I'm on about theo, there's a new-ish mix cd floating about. Grey
cover.

erm, you're not serious, are you?
illegal activities don't set the price, it's the demand in the market that
dedicates the price. for example, there's a huge demand for designer
clothing [god knows why] but only limited availability, now popular brands
get copied and sold cheap. isn't that illegal?

those ugly edits are so expensive because theo wanted to make them this
price, and people are willing to pay that amount of money for his records.
got nothing to do with being unauthorised edits.

just curious what people are paying for the triple pack vinyl.
email me privately if you wish.

they're £17.99 here.

which is pretty ok really, he must be losing a little cash on that, as it's
three 12's, in three different sleeves which could have been sold for £8.49
each, so I was pleasantly surprised - could have been alot worse.

so - has anyone heard the movement cd?

just wondering about the unreleased tracks - anyone heard any of those?

Well, you have to remember, that with every Copyright violation that Theo
makes with Ugly Edits, he's risking $100,000 - $250,000 fine's per
infraction from the RIAA, so in reality, he's not charging enough to cover
his butt, as I doubt he's paying royalties on these.

Hi Robin,
The only problem with that, is that one doesn't have a right as
consumer of illegal substances, at least in America. Once can't take a
drug dealer or a seller of stolen items to court, becuase of laws
saying that Judges will only rule Legal activities.

In fact, at least in America, it is just as illegal to own a bootleg as it is
to put it out, so you don't have any rights.

Cheers Dave

Hi Martin,
I can't speak for England or the rest of the World, but in America
they are both criminally illegal, which was the commonality.

So the point, I was trying to
elicit, is that when most people do illegal activities, they generally
will charge a higher price so that they can put money way for a legal
defense, if they get caught doing that illegal activity (or to at least
make it worthwile for them to take the risk). So it was more
of a statement on blackmarket trading, which both Growing/Selling Pot and
Manufacturing/Selling Bootlegs are a part of, at least in America where
Theo is doing this from.

Cheers, Dave

Theo Parrish

Sound Signature hardly needs introduction. Started out in 1996 by Theo
Parrish, it has always been an outlet for his own music as well as for his
friends, like Rick Wilhite, Marcellus Pittman Moodymann (3 Chairs). After
the release of Parallel Dimensions a few years ago as well as a label
compilation, the forthcoming album Theo Parrish pres. Rotating Assembly
Natural Aspirations is the 3rd full length on the label.

Rotating Assembly is a new band put together by Theo Parrish. This loose
Detroit outfit evolves around 21 people, who exchange talents and energy.
All tracks are written and produced and masterminded by Theo Parrish, who
has given them his (sound) signature sound - a true Sound Signature release.

Artists included in the band are: Genevieve (known for vocals with

(313) New Theo Parrish 12

2002-10-07 Thread Arne Weinberg
I think Minto George already posted it yesterday or on saturday but I really
have to give it an extra special kick
I received the new Sound Signature 12 of Theo Parrish today and it is so
beautiful...
really amazing! One of Theo's best records in my personal opinion.

Theo Parrish - Solitary flight / Sound Signature 016

Solitary flight sounds like an very old movie soundtrack with nice strings
and piano combined with the typical rhythm work of Theo Parrish
Dellwood II is more in the normal style of Theo Parrish, means a little bit
more jazzy and minimal. Also great, even though it doesn't reach the quality of
the A-side IMO.

Cheers, Arne

I agree with Otto.
And after seeing that he titled the record Solitary, makes the 1st track
all the more deep.

[313]New Theo Parrish?

2001-11-12 Thread James Bucknell

over the weekend i picked up a white label that i was told is theo parrish and
is apparently titled 'moments of insanity'. it's one sided one track with
samples of wtc related media--george bush declaring war on evildoers, first
person accounts of the attack etc.
i haven't had a good listen because i still have to pick it up from the bar i
left it at on saturday night.

anybody have any info on this? is it theo parrish? is it getting a proper
release?
