I see on the delsin site that Quince, Vince Watson and Steve Rachmad
have dates over the weekend so all is not lost. Steve Rachmad killed
it to a near empty Tresor last Saturday.

Yes sir I will be there! Hit me up if you'd like to meet up, always good to
meet list folks for real. I get in Thurs and am on my own for my first 2
nights as my gang get in Saturday. Will probably be going to the Afro Acid
thing plus I'm definitely up for the Bunker night on the Friday. I see
Fedde Le Grand is on the same bill as KMS so I don't think that's one I'll
be attending ;-) There are a other 313 connections; Aril Brikha is playing
and a 100% Pure night has appeared on the program since I last looked.

As for your other question, it was the first thing I wanted to know and
beamed signals to that planet to find out, however the controller tells us
no. Bo!!! We come to your city to hear your goodies and you keep your
artists locked indoors :-(

Anyone else going to be there? The only directly 313 things I've seen
are the Afro Acid party with DJ Pierre, Juan Atkins and Phuture 303
and another party with KMS. no planet delsin showcase?

Yeah, I'll be trying to catch those shows too.

On the subject of a near empty Tresor, it's a shame that the new incarnation
seems to have dropped to near the bottom of the order
of choice of destination in Berlin. It's entirely understandable as there are
just so many good clubs there; some of the smaller /
more out of the way / less well known ones I've been to there are still better
than anything we have here in Manchester (though I
know from talking to visiting artists we have our own particular appeal ;-) and
as for the most in demand. But I really like
the new Tresor and am not sure if it's a victim of not being the freshest line
up / name, too big too soon after the relaunch, too
stark and dark, a.n.other reason. I'd loved to have seen it really take off
and expand into that huge space where the chandelier
is.

I think they launch on the 9th of October with the new system in
place. Lets hope they've also done the one downstairs as well...

Tresor's new IOSONO 3D audio system should be entertaining at least.
Apparently its based on the findings of a late 18th century Dutch
Physician (on topic) and uses an array of hundreds of speakers to
create a sweeping sweet spot throughout the room. at least according
to their flash animation.

Hmmm, at my work we've had people from clubs come and ask us about a similar
concept many times. We always patiently explain to
them that it wouldn't work for sound in the way it does for light - you
couldn't sense the sweet spot at another location and track
its progress. So with light you see the spotlight elsewhere, enjoy seeing it
highlight various areas and go wild (maybe) as it
comes toward you. With sound it's just going to sound like the PA is bad for
most of the time and you'll have no sense of the sweet
spot apart from when it passes over you briefly. Not too sure if this fits
what they're trying as I've not seen this video (just
had a look at the site but can't spot it), do you have a link?

According to a Berlin friend 'Tresor is the club where people go when
they can't get into Watergate or Berghain.' I think that Tresor's
original cohort of fans has aged out of all night clubbing, and
despite being legendary, the prime clubbing demographic of 18-25
weren't out of diapers during the club's heyday.

They have to build a new group of enthusiastic fans to go with the
elderly diehards. This means they have to educate Berlin clubbers yet
again. And they may have permanently lost the crowd who don't know
anything except that they like pills, and the artist whose name rhymes
with Bitchy Rotten.

And for the record, no I've not been to either the old or new Tresor,
and I'm no authority on Berlin. But I hear things ...

I'd say 18-25 is definitely on the young side of the
Berghain/Panoramabar demographic... the crowd is mainly 25+,
particularly in the Berghian part. Watergate is a different, less
interesting matter (IMO).

Rather, I think the new Tresor's problems result from its line ups
being fairly flat and the venue capturing very little of its original
spirit.

I think Berlin clubbers are a pretty educated lot...

 the crowd who don't know
anything except that they like pills, and the artist whose name rhymes
 with Bitchy Rotten

... and that is not a representative reflection on them (though it may be of
the seemingly now unstoppable horde swooping in for a
weekend's partying and blackening the name of we English still further in
Europe).

 be attending
with the K-os.net group and we will be looking for

The following link has a complete list of delegates. I am particularly
interested in electro techno associated labels and other

you can make any recommendations I would be grateful. It claims to be
Europe's main electronic and dance music conference.
