Yo this was the most important election on earth in recent history. The effect that the elected president has the oportunity to have on the rest of the world is unprecidented. Obviously not too many people thought it through. I have a friend whose wife was kerry all the way and then voted bush last night because she couldn't bear to make her mom mad.!! WTF? The decision of the direction of our country hinges on someones maternal issues? This is not what the country needs and I feel it really underscores the (apparrently) overwhelming notion that it's okay to base life altering decisions affecting huge sections of our (earth's) populace on personal fears (whether real or suggested/planted by media). with regards to the outcome of the marriage laws, I think the gop has succeeded in creating an atmosphere of fear so pervasive and a media blackout so effective, that the american people have begun a regression into the whacked-out puritan paranoia that founded this place.!
