RE: (313) Mururoa And Drexciya
To add to the talk about James, Drexciya and other projects, I've been told by a main Detroit player that Japanese Telecom is only Gerald (the other half of Drexciya), but I think James may of had some influence on some tracks since they would have worked closely But the puzzle I want to solve is, who is Dopplereffekt and Arpanet? I'm sure both these projects are related as the Arpanet LP Wireless Internet references the old Dopplereffekt label Dataphysix... but the question is who exactly is behind these 2 projects? Anyone?? Or is this one of those questions that only a few people know and don't want to tell anyone to respect the original artist/s? In this case, not sure if I should be posting the details on Japanese Telecom... but I wasn't instructed to keep it hush d-JCB _ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

Note, the 'Drexciyan DJ Stingray' couldn't have been some random dude that came off the street. Yet he was neither James nor Gerald. k
RE: (313) Mururoa And Drexciya
Transllusion OPP are more than likely, James Stinson - authorititative sources on this list have said recently. On this subject. I wonder how much we can assume a track by a Drexciya-related 'name' has been influenced by Stinson? I'm thinking about the Japanese Telecom LP. There are one or two tracks on that where the similarity in style, structure, even theme, become almost compelling ... but then, how can one know for sure? k -Original Message- From: O.L. I believe it was produced by Drexciya. It comes on milky white vinyl with no info. Does anyone know the artists and track names on this record? Are any of them by Drexciya? Also, were the Drexciya releases or any of the Drexciya related projects; i.e. Elecktroids, Glass Domain, L.A.M., Other People Place, and Transllusion, solo efforts of the late James Stinson or was everything done with Dopplereffekt (whoever he may be)? From what I remember Drexicya wasn't involved, but Aphex Twin, Autechre, Ectomorph and Beverly Hills 808303 were. Don't know any track titles though. Cheers, Otto
Re: (313) Mururoa And Drexciya
Tracks on that EP are by Cylob, I-F, Ectomorph and Marco Passarani. The vinyl glows in the dark by the way! That'll teach me to rely on my memory first thing Monday morning before I've had coffee %-) Ob313: Had a listen last week to fellow listmember Jernej Marusic's debut (?) EP on the Refill label. Funky, groovy, very danceable, I like! If only the copy I listened to hadn't been the last one and taken already :( Otto

If only the copy I listened to hadn't been the last one and taken already :( Wow thanks :) that actually came out a couple of years ago, and yes it was my debut EP. I don't really like those tracks that much if I listen to them now :). I think I still have an extra copy somewhere, so if you send my you're address I might be able to send it to you. Btw. Check out my new CD and EP that just came out on Tehnika label: Octex - Idei Lahesna CD/Deflection EP, it's been getting some great reviews. Jernej www.soundoflj.com/octex
