RE: (313) New Dark Comedy LP
It's not just you. I still listen to "The Corbomite Maneuver" on a regular basis. -Original Message- From: Ken Odeluga [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, September 18, 2004 5:52 AM To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: (313) New Dark Comedy LP The press release the other day about the new Dark Comedy LP reminded me to dig out the other Dark Comedy LP, 'Seven Days' and the 'Exhibits' comp on Art of Dance. Is it just ancient me or is this stuff still very good indeed? Deep textures, many varieties of rhythms, all encapsulated in that indefatigable Detroit blue. If this doesn't teach me to pick this kind of stuff up on vinyl at the time, instead of the latest short-lived thing, nothing will. So far the new one seems only available on CD in Japan ... http://www.diskunion.com/clubt/detail.php?tid=CMTE-9991283 (What kind of name is that for a record label, by the way!;-) k

super dumb question: was he into doing comedy before he titled one of his projects "dark comedy"? tom -- Original Message -- From: "George Jones IV - Logic7" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sat, 18 Sep 2004 09:48:03 -0700 >It's not just you. Re: (313) New Dark Comedy LP
i like the old dark comedy, but i gotta say the new album is much better. maybe not better, just different than most things i'm hearing right now (as opposed to the old dark comedy which is very much a part of a sound/time/place) i really think kenny stretched the creative muscle on this one. "Without A Sound (Silent Mix)" (from "Corbomite Manuever") is one of my all-time favorite tracks, and will be played at my wedding if I can help it (and if we ever get around to planning it ;) ). I keep forgetting to rib Kenny over his misspelling of "Maneuver". Maybe he did it purposely, to avoid being sued by Gene Roddenberry. - Greg (Peeing his pants over getting to see Ulrich Schnauss and Mark Verbos at 2 separate events tonight)
RE: (313) New Dark Comedy Lp now on double vinyl
Hmmm Alex. Is This 'Funkfaker: Music Saves My Soul' getting a much-wanted vinyl edition or a brand new one entirely?
