I really don't mind people having a little fun with threads like Richie hawtin k but if you don't like my opinion that's tuff, my opinion of the Plus 8 label looking like crap and other label's that try to go minimal but it doesn't look right because of the imagery or style font/ logo they are using is only my opinion. Spot on Garrett. I'm just looking for why you think the way you do. Saying the 'k' looks crap because of the typeface doesn't say much. It could simply be that while one person likes Helvetica, you in turn like Univers. Justification of your point is all that was asked for. Here's a question Steve. You see a rare Retroactive record, Feel The Fire for $5 with the basic artwork in red and black and say a record on Nukleuz that has some mind blowing artwork but the music IMHO leaves a lot to be desired, which do you choose, and why? Can I have my pacifier back now? thanks Benn -- Benn Glazier [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.royaltech.net

Steve, seriously... Didn't Ben just ask you to tell us why you think this way? That doesn't sound like an attack. It seems that the point here, per your last sentence, is that 'what you really think' seems, at the very least, bizarre to the majority of the people here. No, that doesn't make it wrong. You are most certainly entitled to any stand you choose. But it does come off as such a severely unfounded, nonsensical rambling that you either get things like you're an idiot or some version of 'what the f*ck are you talking about?'. You shouldn't be surprised by either and the fact that you are lends us to lean more toward the former in that last sentence than the latter. Talk to a group, expect some of them to talk back. Are you even referring to the Plus 8 of the last 5 years? Because it doesn't look a thing like the era previous to that. None of which really matters. Sorry, but your assertion that all this carrying on is because your opinions hit too close to home just isn't the case. No one cares. You've just been getting all this attention because what you've chosen to publicly opine about is somewhat akin to aggressively arguing the merits of sharp vs. medium sharp cheddar cheese. - Original Message - From: spw [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Benn Glazier [EMAIL PROTECTED]; 313 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 10:23 AM Subject: Re: Re[2]: (313) Richie Hawtin k I cant spend all day position email to this list but let me just say this thread is a case of my criticism hitting a little to close to home to some people on the 313 list. Okay if this thread is going to stop, let me just say that after a lengthy discussion, Andy Kellman and I have decided that we're going to re-write Techno Rebels. Dan, we like your content and the direction you were going...but the graphic design on the front could be a lot better and you need to have more on the importance of happy hardcore in the Detroit community. So look for Techno Rebels 2.0 : Electric Boogaloo (complete with weighted, balanced fonts for aesthetic importance!) at a Barnes and Noble near you some time in 2005. Right now the cover shot is going to be Dale Lawrence naked, riding a mule and strumming a guitar. And thanks Dan, for without you we couldn't have reworked the history of Detroit techno.
