Re: Claude Young retirement!?!
According to Claude's reply on Instagram, the article is crap. He's stepping away from DJing and it sounds like he's focusing on composing new music without regard to genre. It's hard to overstate his reputation, especially in Japan and Europe. He's got nothing left to prove, but I expect new surprises from him! Hats off to Claude, as always, for staying true to himself and sticking with his instincts. Sad to see him go, but so lucky to see him work magic on those decks. [313] quick note re claude young in leeds tonight
Hi just to let anyone know who's thinking of coming tonight. the guest lists are now full at over 200 people. the club holds 250 so to stand any chance of entrance get there at 10pm when we open. there's probably gonna be guest listers who don't turn up by the 11pm deadline so stick around if the club is full earlier and ask the door guy to sort you if and when. cheers paul

question re: claude young - patterns the album
anybody know what the relationship is between claude young's pattern buffer records and patterns the album? is the album a collection of the earlier 12-inch tracks or something altogether different? brian brian j. dillard | [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.reflect.com | [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.armchair-dj.com | [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I don't have the CD with me, but as I recall it compiles tracks from the djax 12-inches. Strong techno with a decidedly sharp edge to it. I tried to confirm track listing, but it seems www.djax.nl is down. -- There4IM
Re: Claude Young Japanese DJ Mix
In case anyone is interested, I found the tracklisting for Claude Young's DJF 1100 on the following webpage: http://www.sme.co.jp/Music/Info/SonyTechno/feature/9912/djf/r_info_bd.html As far as I can tell, the DJF is being billed as the successor to the famous Mix-Up series, DJF stands for DJ Friendship or maybe DJ Friendly, and previous volumes were Westbam (DJF 125), Carl Cox (DJF 250), Takkyu Ishino (DJF 400), and DJ Hell (DJF 750.) The beat juggling, along with the numerous cut-up and EQed tracks were exactly what DJing is all about: taking good songs, and making new ones by assembling them together in creative ways. It was a one and a half hour trip into the land of Claude. If you haven't seen him on his current US leg of his tour, look out for flyers. regards, Dennis
