is it maybe as well, because we get older? yeah, I reckon maybe. i don't have the idea there are more bootlegs floating around ehm.. are there? I think in modern electronic music (techno?), theres more around these days than there were. just because the records are getting older and more sought after, and the ebay price explosion of the mid-late 90's didn't help... _ - End of message text This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. not that im aware of. im not even sure if they are a legit label or not. they just put out a double pack with pretty much all the official remixes of Blue Monday (hardfloor, the beach, 1988 remix dub, original, etc). they could be legit, but i dont know. the pressings are usually pretty good, though. but, to answer the booty part of the question: not that im aware of. Re: (313) friday question
My tongue-in-cheek response (to un-ruin the genre) says it already happened DJ T-1000 The Last DJ On Earth But that hasn't stopped folks from releasing some fine detroit techno records afterwards. I think it's obvious that it'll be the last DJ left on earth who makes the last 313 record. (Barring space travel, rebirth from watery graves a la Drexciya, etc etc.) Detroiters are survivors, after all. -marc who will make the last detroit techno record? I've got 10 bux that says I can ruin the genre for everyone

First on the list would probably be Mike Patton. Secondarily, maybe Richie Hawtin or, well... Martin Gore. Not to copy off your list or anything. :) Really, the answer would be everyone as I'm always interested in seeing how other people work, what their creative processes are, etc. I think there's an infinite number of ways to create music, and I want to experience as many of them as I can, though it's not going so well so far. :) john. RE: (313) Friday Question - that Latin track
I don't think it applies, but the 4 records that Panoptcia put out on Certificate 18 a couple of years ago are really good. They sample the Nortec style of music that is popular in northern Mexico, but it is so heavily processed and chopped you really can't tell. I also have a white label by Fussible on Head and Arm (UK?) that has a latin house kind of feel to it because of the horns...also relies heavily on the Nortec sound... I guess that is why they call themselves Nortec Collective... So many great ones, where do I start? So here are some classics: Brinca - Ralphi Rosario, all four mixes on the original are great Los Kings del Mambo - Studio X, pretty much the definitive Latin house track in the San Francisco scene Body - Funky Green Dogs, this is basically Murk's remix of several of their own previous classics, a little more spaced-out than their usual earthy sound ... Ralph and Oscar are superb craftsmen and always soulful The Bounce - Kenlou, simple and powerful, the real masters at work, what more can you say My Anthem (Bay Ridge Style) - Mike Delgado, often overlooked but always consistent Fly Like an Eagle - Neville Brothers, Little Louie and Kenny Dope make a great reintepretation of Steve Miller by the Nevilles even better

I think space djz-live has happened in the uk, but can't remember where. I saw Carl Craig live at Fabric in 1999. (Same night as 4-Hero, Rolando, Octave One Live, and Grooverider - when he was good. An almost unfeasibly special night.) k -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 12, 2004 1:43 PM To: 313@hyperreal.org; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: (313) Friday Question space djz-live dark comedy-live (has this ever happened?) carl craig performing under all his monikers all of these are at least 4 hour sets :-D. I was priviledged enough to be there and was very impressed - last time I heard him was 2 years ago and he bored the pants off me but this was excellent - he played a lot of Matthew Jonson tracks.
