Re: (313) Fragmented Records (was help - paul mac)
fragmented was a sublabel of kickin'. they had problems with money (what other kind are there, snort) and folded. and my bad, the jaime reade album is only a 3xLP, 12 tracks, i guess i really dig 7 or 8 of them...

Also don't forget the Jay Denham remix of The Cause - Black Window EP - probably my favourite ever track from Jay, which is saying something ;-) Does anyone know what happened to this label, or who was behind it? - Original Message - From: "Matt MacQueen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Aidan O'Doherty" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, August 27, 2004 7:32 PM Subject: Re: (313) help - paul mac > > On Aug 27, 2004, at 8:50 AM, Aidan O'Doherty wrote: > > > i am a fan of some of paul mac's releases, especially his 'authentic > > moment' 12 on fragmented, > > Great record. Re: [313] Fragmented records
like stuart all i remember of kickin' was the first colin dale comp 'the outer limits', first time i'd heard some of those carl craig tracks off retroactive - and it also had my mates connective zone from a13 on it.. great morganistic track as i remember too - bought it with my dole money when i was signing on :) as for the offshoot fragmented, they released one of my favourites, chris gray's 'fish & luvconfushun' as well as a lot of stuff by morgan geist, dan curtin, paul mac, etc.. the paul mac album 'old school former pupil' isn't bad and there's a compilation with a few of the dan curtin and morgan geist things on.. _ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [313] Fragmented records
HI Kickin' was a UK based label that put out a lot of techno in the early-mid nineties. I can't remember off hand anything specific that they did, but I know I have a few and they definatly did a lot of compilation LPs, the best probably being the Colin Dale Outer Limits album that had old tracks from Carl Craig, Stefen Robers and Luke Slater. Its bugging me because they had a really distinct logo that was always plastered across thier records but I cant remember any!! Hang on, its coming to me...thats it, they did all the Scientist tracks that were pre jungle, breakbeat hardcore kind of rave affairs, you'd probably recognise the 'exorcist' track they did. I think they did a lot of stuff like this before maturing a bit and doing mainly comps. Plus they did a lot of the early Matt B stuff, Plantastik I think it was called, which I guess was the pre cursor to Tek house, so quite an influential label in many ways I guess.
