Re: Orphaned blobs and SSD drives
Bernd, We too have gotten the "Orphaned Blob" error for several years now. I even dedicated some time a few years ago to ask about this at a 4D Kitchen session at the summit. A compact or repair will clean this up at least temporarily. Is there a chance that you once had a blob field that was later converted to another type? If my understanding is correct this can lead to orphan blobs when the data in that converted field is changed, particularly if the blob was stored outside the datafile. I read somewhere, perhaps the KB, that if you change the type of a blob or picture field you should clear out the field before the change is made in the structure. Re: 4D Write Pro Interface component v16R6
Randy, I encountered the same problem but then remembered 4D's caveat about widgets... they only will initialize properly on pages 0 and 1. This is documented here among other places. http://doc.4d.com/4Dv16R6/4D/16-R6/4D-Widget-components.300-3713598.en.html Regards, Scott Wirth -- Sent from: http://4d.1045681.n5.nabble.com/4D-Tech-f1376241.html ** 4D Internet Users Group (4D iNUG) FAQ: http://lists.4d.com/faqnug.html Archive: http://lists.4d.com/archives.html Options: https://lists.4d.com/mailman/options/4d_tech Unsub: mailto:4d_tech-unsubscr...@lists.4d.com **

Robert, Where are you located? The form you posted seems to contain patient health information and under US law this represents a reportable HIPAA breach. I suggest you remove the file right away. Re: v15.3 seems to be crashing on MACOS 10.12.1 & the new MBP
Douglas, Rolling back to 15.2 may not work either. We are having issues with Sierra build 16B2657 and 4D v15.2. Build 16B2555 works fine. Re: v15.3 seems to be crashing on MACOS 10.12.1 & the new MBP
Kirk, Same problem here with a MacBook Air recently upgraded to Sierra. The issue for us is that 4D crashes anytime a 4D Write area is touched. I am running Sierra on an iMac with no issues and thought it may be related to the laptop, however see the release notes for 15.3, what they state is consistent with our experience. Running 4D on the older build of Sierra 10.12.1 is fine, not so on the more recent build. Bill, "Since the system is a built c/s project and we do auto updates quite often" It's my experience in v15 that you need to reset the Default HTML root after an update. Re: Named selection based List Box
John, We've been using "Named Selection" list boxes from the beginning to display different selections from the same table. It works like a charm. The only issues arise when you want to edit a particular record. It's doable but you have to handle all the loading and unloading yourself.
