[64studio-devel] Possible FAQ
Hi all, I never used samba, so I'm not sure if this is a common problem http://www.64studio.com/node/114 but if so, we may want to add a FAQ linking to or incorporating the info from: http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Share_files_using_Samba Ciao! Re: [64studio-devel] Backport of GNOME 2.18
Hello, I just would like to share my personal opinion. I think to include a newer version of Gnome in 64Studio can be a good idea. Not only by reading the new features ( http://www.gnome.org/start/2.18/notes/en/ ) you can see what the advantages would be, but also I'm pretty sure there are plenty of bugs fixes that might not be obvious by using it for a short time. Also the Linux audio community around 64Stduio gets a chance to use the latest version and to be at the same point in the development of Gnome where the Gnome devs are, so there is a better possibility to help with bug feedback and feature testing/suggesting. Just my two cents. Cheers! Hector On 8/8/07, Free Ekanayaka [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Steve, |--== Steve A writes: SA Hi Free, SA I took the plunge, everything installed without a hitch. Thanks for having tested it. I basically had the same experience on my system, so probably the wisest thing to do is to stick to GNOME 2.14 for the next release as well, as the benefits of 2.18 wrt 2.14 seem very limited. Thanks for you comments, your points are the same as I thought when I've started the backport. However it now seems to me that the pros of having Gnome 2.18 are not that many, as after all we didn't get a single bug report specific to Gnome 2.14, and apparently the new features are of minor importance for us. So probably keeping gnome 2.14 and retaining full compatibility with debian etch is still a better move. Ciao! [64studio-devel] noatime, nodiratime
On the back of a Slashdot article, I read this set of LKML postings: http://kerneltrap.org/node/14148 Maybe 64 Studio should be setting noatime, nodiratime by default on ext3 filesystems? [64studio-devel] #64studio
I've been hanging out on [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I was wondering who set up the channel - I would like to be added to the channel access list so I can perform ops if need be. It might be fun / useful to get a group cloak while we're at it too. I have dealt with FreeNode before and can probably sort most of it out, but it would be good practice to have official authorisation from the group. Do come and join us for a chat, the more the merrier! cheers, tim /|\ ___ 64studio-devel mailing list 64studio-devel@64studio.com http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-devel
