Re: [9fans] netsurf or opossum
I included a picture taken on 9legacy's opossum screen. On the 6th line, there is a words of '日本語Nul言語Nul', which should be '日本語(言語)'. The '(' or ')' is replaced by NUL character, which may be caused from a library under your program, not from yours. This is just my guess. The 9legacy wants classic (yeah, everything classic before 1995?) hardware like C:, D: etc. When I weant to change it to AHCI, I had to rewrite a little like sdE0 etc. By the way, I have 9legacy system here, and I can test your git9 if you want. [9fans] (no subject)
Subject change to ether Yuk driver for 88E8036 I noticed the 9fans reopen now. I tried this mail at June 16, 2016, but failed... I'd like to announce this to all, particulary eric. I posted a mail to 9fans, but I don't have received that mail, so retries it to this mailing-list. I asked the above line for about two weeks ago to 9fans. Now I got a solution by myself. The problem was 88E8036(Yukfe) chip has a small amount of RAM buffer, which eric didn't pay attention. I tried to may diff file, however, I wrote too many comment lines on the file, which leads to a fuge sized diff file. Therefore, I'll write only the differences between the last cdrom of 9front and myself. belows are the data: (please pay attention to ===> lines) -from here- 1)static Vtab vtab[] = { 0x11ab, 0x4351, 1514, "88e8036", 2)in buffinit() function: if(q == Qr || q == Qr + Qportsz){ ===>t = end - start; rrwrite32(c, q + Rpon, t - 8192/8); /* set Rx upper threshold, pause on */ ===>rrwrite32(c, q + Rpoff, t/4); /* set Rx lower threshold pause off */ 3)in phyinit() function: if((c->feat & Fnewphy) == 0){ u = phyread(c, Phyextctl); u &= ~0xf70;/* clear downshift counters */ u |= 0x7<<4;/* mac tx clock = 25mhz */ if(c->type == Yukec) u |= 2*Dnmstr | Dnslv; else ===>u |= (0<<8 & 3<<8)|(1<<8 & 3<<8); .. }else{ ===>if(c->feat != 0)/* exclude Yukfe */ u |= Ppmdixa >> 1; /* why the shift? */ if(c->type == Yukfep && c->rev == 0){ } . +++ if (c->type == Yukfe){ /* led control */ +++ u = u1 = phyread(c, Phyphy); +++ u &= ~(0xf <<4); +++ u |= 0x0b<<4 & 0xf<<4; +++ phywrite(c, 0x16, u); +++ u1 |= (1<<8 & 7<<8) <<1; +++ phywrite(c, 0x18, u1); +++ } phywrite(c, Phyintm, Anok | Anerr | Lsc); /* phy interrupt mask */ dprint("phyid %.4ux step %.4ux\n", phyread(c, 2), phyread(c, 3)); } --- to here - Kenji
[9fans] etheryuk.c for Marvell 88E8036?
I'm now facing a serious problem to use 88E8036 rev 16 chip (11ab/4351) on Sony VAIO F-type notebook. Adding the device ID above, I can read data without problem. However, to transmit a larger (say 2500 bytes) data, it hangs up. For an example, cat test in the network booted terminal without local disk. The chips shows pci data as: 11ab/4351 5 0:fc24 16384 2:5001 256 The chip c->type is Yukfe, and c->rev=1, c->feat=0. When I look the linux source, it says the chip is SKY2_HW_RSS_BROKEN, and intentionally gave up to solve this in the kernel layer... Have you any suggestion, eric? Kenji
[9fans] Marvell Yukon 88E8055 NIC
I think this is written by eric, however, it may concern to others, and I'm now a 9front user. I use Panasonic CF-R7 C2D notebook(maybe around 2009) which has Yukon 88E8055 ether chip. The etheryuk.c has no this entry. Please add the entry of 0x11ab, 0x4363 1514 "88e8055" to vtab[]. This chip works file! Thank you eric! Kenji

[9fans] plan9port for El Capitan(10.11.3)
I'm using p9p on MacOS 10.11.3, and having a strange behaviour. I have to resize the 9term (or any other) window to show its contents. Thanks both of Nicolas and lyndon. I didn't think that's possibility. My mini-ITX box is very cool, when I touch the top, I feel cold!, even at 33 degree C room temperature. Therefore I can do the voltage down for this power supply. Kenji
