[abcusers] jcabc2ps source?
Hello, I'd like to provide Win32 binaries for jcabc2ps, and I've been trying to download the source from Sourceforge. No way. I've also searched on Google - nothing. I'm not prepared to waste more than 40 seconds on this... Could anyone point me to the sources? I'll make the binaries available on the abcplus page. [abcusers] Typesetting piobaireachd with abc?
Hi there, Does anyone know of abc software, running under unix/linux, whch allows the following: (1) Grace notes with different time values, such as {ge4d}? (2) Optional bars in the middle of a part, with the possibility of putting text over them such as "Play in line 2 only"? Then I could get down to typesetting some piobaireachd. cheers, Alasdair - This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
Re: [abcusers] sourceforge homepage
Why don't we just use the summary page? I think its much easier both from a user and administration standpoint. You can just zip/tar the images and put the zip file in the summary page. CVS is good if you have a lot of active developers, but that's not really the case here. There are a bunch of dead links on the summary page, which makes it pretty confusing at present. I'd like to get the latest CVS versions of the various tools and put them on the summary page for easy access. Any objections? If you follow the link to "CVS Repository" at the bottom of the Projects page, you end up at < http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=6137 >, which gives directions for cvs'ing the source. I've had a look at the sourceforge ABC pages a few times, but find it really confusing to get around. Don asks: | I've been meaning to ask, and this reminds me... Is there a compiled for | Windows (32-bit) version of jcabc2ps available anywhere? I have searched, | but all I can find is source code. Unfortunately, I haven't the tools at | the moment to handle it. Not to my knowledge. ;-) I wonder if sourceforge's compile farm include Windows machines? I keep hearing rumors that it's actually possible to access NT-type Windows machines from the Net. I also keep hearing language not suitable for tender ears from people whose job involves managing networks of such machines. (Most of my work is done on unix/linux machines that I've never seen or touched. So I probably have a distorted view of how such things work out there in what passes for the Real World. ;-) To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html

When I started the abc project, you could ftp to the server where the webpage files are, but not anymore. You should use `scp' instead. An explanation on how to use it can be found here: https://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=774&group_id=1. This is a document explaining how to start a SF project. An excerpt, adapted to the abc project and John's username: 5. Setup your group's web site. I'll assume that you have some sort of web page or site built already that you wish to put up on SourceForge to give your group a public face. Login to SourceForge using SSH, for example ; ssh -l chambers abc.sourceforge.net you will now be in your home directory. All group files are stored in a directory structure for each project. The group directory structure is split out by the first, then first and second, letters of the project name. From here all group files are stored in /home/groups/a/ab/abc. Change to this directory. All your web pages are stored in the htdocs directory. Going in here will contain index.php, which is a blank page that says you haven't uploaded a web page yet. Logout, and copy the files for your web page using scp, a program which comes with ssh. For example: scp localfile [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/groups/a/ab/abc/htdocs/ I suggest you gzip up your site, send it in one go using scp, then login with ssh and gunzip it. Hope this helps... I was even given admin privs a year or so back, and since then I've spent a lot of spare time learning about sourceforge. Lots of good stuff there. But I've never found any information telling me how to update that link to my code. This is extremely frustrating. I've gotten email from people who have downloaded it and installed it, and found all sorts of things that don't work. I have to point them to my personal site where I have the latest version. And I apologize for the version on sourceforge. How can I make that link point to the current version? I'd prefer that someone else not "help" me by doing it themselves; that would just keep me ignorant and the problem would continue. Best would be if someone could point to the sourceforge documentation that I haven't been smart enough to find, so I can learn to do it myself. Sourceforge seems like a good idea. I wonder how people learn to do such things with it? The documentation seems a jumbled mess. I can wander around it in forever learning things that I don't have use for right now. But I can never find an answer to the questions that I have at the moment. Having the first version of my code presented as "the" version and not being able to update it is extremely annoying ...
