Re: [AI] Help needed regarding Jaws90.(File Extentions)
Hello, It is not a jaws specific issue. You can go to Start Menu>Settings>Control Panel>Folder Options and disable the option for hiding known file extentions with any version of Jaws or even without it. To do this, press Control Tab to land on the View tab in Folder Options, press tab to focus on the Tree View there and press H twice to get the Hide Extentions for Known File Types, which is turned on by default. Press Space to turn it off. Complete the process by pclicking Apply and OK buttons. - Original Message - From: "govind reddy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 5:43 AM Subject: [AI] Help needed regarding Jaws90. > Hi list members, > How to make jaws anounce type of file that it reads? for ex: My Jaws > doesn't > say Govind Doc,Doc, instead it Govind. > your help in this regard will be highly appriciated. > Warm regards, > Govind. > M: 9959392651. > Join Access India convention: For updates on it visit: > http://accessindia.org.in/harish/convention.htm > Registration is now open! > > To unsubscribe send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > with the subject unsubscribe. > > To change your subscription to digest mode or make any other changes, > please visit the list home page at > http://accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/accessindia_accessindia.org.in Join Access India convention: For updates on it visit: http://accessindia.org.in/harish/convention.htm Registration is now open! Re: [AI] A peculiar problem with JAWS 5.0
I think JAWS script for IE7 should solve your problem. CUNY where I teach for example has not yet upgraded to JAWS 9 and I still use JAWS 5 with IE7 without any problem. You may also consider downgrading to IE6. In any case as a long term solution it is a good idea to upgrade to JAWS 9. Of course a costly option since these institutions make dam money out of our basic necessities. Vetri. Re: [AI] info regarding buying a mobile handset
I agree. I use N72 and it's the nicest phone that I have ever used. I think the N72 costs around RS 8200 in India. I also totally agree that one doesn't really require the Infra red since bluetooth technology is far advanced than the former. Also Infra red a bit difficult to use since one is expected to keep Infra red device along the same line and that's not easy for us. [AI] Need proper guidance from you all for a visually-challenged candidate with B.tech in textile.
Dear Friends, I recently met a visually-challenged person with 70% eye-vission, who had done B.tech in textile in 2003. He did his schooling and Engineering all in normal school and college; upto his engineering, he didn't aware of any special school or training institute for Visually-challenged persons. In 2005 he had some basic computer training with JAWS in an NGO and got placement, but the salary was around 2,500. After that he changed his job related to his own field, again he is not satisfied with his job due to various reasons (low-salary, not cooperation from other staff management and so on.) Now he is doing MBA through distance mode. I request you all to give your suggestions and your oppinion, What can he do next? What would be his current position in job market with B.tech in textile with his Visual impairment? Will Jaws support for designing and other application related to his textile job? Please share your views to me, with your help I can guide him to the best. Mobile: 09840228250. Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Skipe: speak-sarav. Waiting for your earliest response. Thanks in advance. Re: [AI] Aware the doctors about the assistive technology
I strongly agree with this. I was a patient of Shankar Nethralaya, which is one of the best in India, from my third year. Now I am 26 and till now they haven't told me about assistive technology. Because of this, I was deprived of computer usage till my twenty fifth year and as a result lost many oppurtunities. So, I feel the doctors should create awareness among patients about such things which develops self confidence in patients. And for this first the doctors themselves should be aware of latest technology. Some serious thought should be put into this matter because any person with disability will first meet the doctor and if right information is provided at that stage, it would be great. Sorry for a lengthy mail. Regards Vamshi.
