[AI] Introduction about new member Ganta. Janardhana Naidu
Hollow Friends, I am G. Janardhana Naidu, born totally blind and working as a Lecturer in Political Science in Government Degree College in Narasannapeta of Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Kirankaja encouraged me to become computer literate by providing speech enabling softwares and some E texts when he was in Hyderabad. Mr. Govindareddy suggested me to subscribe this wonderful list for further life long learning and sharing ideas. Presently I am pursuing my Ph.D. in the department of Political Science in Osmania University on part time basis on the topic entitled "Public policy and empowerment of visually challenged a study of Andhra Pradesh" under the able guidance of Pro. V. Ravindrasastry to achieve the goal to contribute some thing to the field of visual disability. I strongly believe that the list members will guide me and help me to produce useful and qualitative thesis. Further I am requesting all the list members to offer your valuable suggestions and sources of information to proceed with the topic. Please forward me if you have any books, articles, thesis or any materials on visual disability or any disability to my personal mail ID to reduce the traffic in the list. [AI] U.S. company unveils 'most powerful' graphics chip, made
Date:19/10/2008 URL: http://www.thehindu.com/2008/10/19/stories/2008101953101400.htm Front Page U.S. company unveils 'most powerful' graphics chip, made in India Anand Parthasarathy Apple is the first to harness the chip set for its new range of MacBooks - Photo: Special Arrangement GRAPHICS GEEKS: Some of the Indian engineers who helped to create NVIDIA's new 9400 graphics processing chip (inset). BANGALORE: The mathematics is really quite simple: if a new processor delivers five times the number-crunching power over comparable options, in one-half the size, it is a ten-fold improvement of silicon performance. U.S.-based visual computing leader NVIDIA claimed this last week, when it unveiled its latest graphical processing platform for portable application. The 54 gigaflops (that is, 54 billion computer operations per second) that the chip delivers makes it the 'most powerful integrated graphics processor in the market today,' said its makers. Indian engineers at the company's Bangalore-based Research and Development Centre substantially developed the thumb-nail-sized chip. "From designing the chip architecture to translating it into a form that can be handed over to a silicon foundry to fabricate, pretty much all the hardware work was done by our India team," Sridhar Manthani, Senior Director, told The Hindu. Software support came from the U.S.-based teams. The GeForce 9400M is a single-chip solution - in an industry in which at least two chips are normally required to do the job. It has16 cores, or computing units, working simultaneously to handle complex challenges posed by customers. Yet, the chip is much less power-hungry than its predecessors - which means users can view a full-length movie in the upcoming High Definition format without having to recharge the batteries of their notebook computers. Even as the 70-strong group of engineers here worked for over 18 months to deliver the product, potential customers - PC makers - were trying out early samples. And first off the block, with a family of notebook computers fuelled by the 9400M, is Apple which has used it to fuel the new MacBook family, due to be launched in India next week. Please once again, press talks + the number 3, and check wither, it says, "use spelling alphabet as no," or, "use spelling alphabet as yes." And it should be set to no. I have already tried it with both the options and had discovered, that with option yes, the same problem occurs what you are being telling. For carachter ecco, press talks key + 1 repeatedly till it speaks "letters & words" and your problem is solved. Talks key is located just left to the *, Hope this helps. Re: [AI] Posting on the list- suggestions
Yes indeed. But may I also add a couple of points? 1. If we know that a particular individual has books or open source software to share and willing to do so, then I send my request directly to the recipient rather than the list. 2. My past experience made me realize the fact that when we have people with different points of view on a subject, there will be some who sticking to their guns and henceforth there is no point in cluttering everyone's mailboxes with his/her view even if it is completely rational. [AI] AdSense applications rejected, other sources?
Hi friends - I applied for AdSense, but in their first reply, the reviewer of my application told that my site is a "chat site" and rejected my application. I changed the format of my site, and made it a formal one; but in the second rejection I learnt that my site should be at least six months old before I could apply for AdSense. Curiously, before applying for AdSense, I skimmed over their terms of policy and nowhere did I find the aforementioned rules. Well, I presume, earning from Google AdSense is a little too ambitious a project. Are there any other advertisers available? I will update my blog regularly, so please keep on visiting it. Due to my inexcusable carelessness I forgot to thank Mr George Abraham whose inspirational blog inspired me to make a blog. (Thanks to you sir.) Re: [AI] how to move the matter in the right in Ms word? and how tohigh light something by bullet sign?
Hello, You can right-align a paragraph using ctrl+r. It will shift all lines in a paragraph to the right margin. As for text spread over two or three lines, you may prefer using the tab key to start each line at a certain point. Each tab key will announce the amount of space it shifts. As regards bulleted list, use ctrl+shift+l. For other styles like numbered list, etc., you can use the style submenu under format menu. If things are messed up, use ctrl+shift+n to return to normal format. Best regards, Amiyo Biswas. If you wont to give bullet and numbers, first you have to select the text to which you whont to give bullet and numbers, after that press alt + OF and N. you will get some options there you have to press control + tab till you get bulleted page. select any type of bullet which You like, then press enter. You can also find this option in Bullets and Numbering of format menu. With regards, Your friend, M. [AI] The White Tiger - another case of discrimination
Hello, everyone, Aravind Adiga has won the Booker for his novel The White Tiger but I am more frustrated than I can write here because visually challenged would not get the opportunity to read his novel till several years. The whole nation is animatingly celebrating this extraordinary victory, however, all the dark folks are being excluded. What a shame. Can anyone please lobby the concerned authorities to make the book available to us as early as possible? If anyone has been able to properly scan it, I will be very happy to have a copy. Or, if any NGO is working to provide it to us in accessible format, just let me know. I am eagerly looking forward for your responses. Moderator sir pardon me if I scoffed the copyright law in saying to give me the scanned text. Congratulations for your promotion. Re: [AI] Accountancy questions required
Hi Abdul sir Accountancy is a vast subject. You have to tell which questions you want to find answers to. In the web site www.esnips.com there are some accountancy books in soft copy which might help you. You can also resort to IGNO online material from their web site. Or else write to me personally about specific questions and I will try to search answers for them. -- Vamshi.
