2010-04-28 Thread harish

Hello
This request cannot be acceded to. We are far too many on the list and the
traffic on the list with limited scope is pretty high.

We don't want the list to break down because of its sheer weight
There are other dedicated lists targeted for such a cenerio. Lets adopt a
live and let live policy.

I had to take action on the original person for posting an off-topic mail.
I have told good many times to first seek approval from me before directly
making a post on the list.

If some of the members don't adhere to the requests then they should be
prepared for the consequences.

I would request members not to post comments on the list regarding off-topic
mails. If any have any reservations on any posting, they should write to me
directly on my personal ID. because it causes unnecessary misgivings besides
needless traffic.

My id is given below.

Well, dear friends, in my humble opinion, disability is not the only
identity that we possess! as self-respecting human beings, there are many
aspects that make our personalities diverse, versatile, vast and capable
of being a respectable and useful part of the society as a whole. So,
anything that helps us raise our morale and strengthen our mental and
psychological capabilities should be accepted with open heart and mind +

Subject: [AI] Jaws accessibility help for Microsoft office sharepoint
server2007 datasheet view

Hello friends,

I am facing jaws accessibility challenges in my office.

I have to work on a interface which is like a datasheet view.

It is like a web based xl sheet view.

This interface has been created through Microsoft office SharePoint server
2007.

We have to access the server and the data through the web.

While accessing this datasheet view, jaws reads the column headers, but it
does not read the data contained in the rows.

I want to know if anyone has worked on such type of interface which is
created through Microsoft SharePoint server 2007.

I seek valuable guidance of the members on the same.

Enable India members are also trying to find a solution for the same.

Thanking you all.

Warm regards.

About : Spoken English and Personality Development Course

In today’s corporate environment the need for effective communication
has been recognized and accepted. It is understood that communication
becomes effective when the people who interact are able to comprehend
the requirements of each other in a short span of time. Most often the
first link between people is established through verbal communication,
to be followed by online or other ways of dealing. Moreover as it is
believed that the first impressions are often the last impressions,
the goodwill of a company depends on the initial communication links
that are established and later maintained by its employees. So the
face of the company, that is its employees, needs to be skilled not
only technically but also in effective communication methodology.

With growing international avenues both in the industry and services
sectors the companies are required to deal with foreign clients. One
of the main problems they face in such dealings is the language
barriers due to use of different languages in prevalence.
In most overseas dealings it has been observed that English has been
widely accepted as the functional corporate language. The ease and its
widespread use in most nations has led to the need to recognize the
fact that to get benefits in overseas dealings a command over the
English language is a must. Employees must be well versed in the
grammatical and proper usage of English. Knowledge of both spoken and
written English then would become a prerequisite for getting
employment in companies especially those engaged in the BPO industry,
IT industry or dealing with overseas clients.
Spoken English (Learn with fun) To speak English fluently and
confidently with right accent. Learn to be the leader and not mere

very small and you guided them regarding mobility and giving directions by

Accessindians, Vimal sir has been great source of inspiration for many of
us. And we all have learnt a lot from his knowledge. He is very co-operative
person. Not only this, under his guidance NAB Abu has done great things.
They have various courses to make blind persons independent.
Coming to point, I don't know specifically about the accessibility of the
trading terminal which you have mentioned, but many of us have got trading
accounts in various companies.

In my case it is Motilal Oswal Securities LTD.
However if you could provide me their website with whom you wish to go, then
perhaps I can have a look.

Delayed but very warm welcome sir on accessindia.

Re: [AI] Help needed

2010-04-28 Thread Amar Jain
This is completely fraud, in fact if you receive some mail with scanned
copies of original documents, I request do not fall in such matters.

It is a way of earning money and nothing else.
What they do is that they take the amount on the name of such charges like
bank, courier, and then they run away.
It is popularly known as Nigerian 419 scams. The number 419 is the section
which deals with such scams in Nigeria like how here in India IPC section
420 deals.
Because in 80s such things started from Nigeria in a way of letters and then
it came in a way of emails. So it is believed that this email scamming comes
from Nigeria, but in reality it is not so.
Anyways, just to tell you don't read such emails that's better way of
ignoring such nonsense.

Regards
Amar Jain.

2010-04-28 Thread Rohiet A. Patil

Hi!

I also got such mail from a UK base company before some days. They
weretelling me to claim my prize. Just for fun and to play with them I reply
them with some quairies. In reply, the asked me to give some details
including my complete address, telephone number, fax number etc. But I did
not give them my contact details including my address. I ask them that
whether they have any local office in India or not. If not, how are they
going to delever my prize. Because one of mail, they stated that the prize
have to claim in person. I got a reply today in which they said that there
diplomat is coming to India on 29th to hand over my prize. I wonder that
they only know that I am from India and they doesn't know my contact number
also, then how will they contact me. And where they will search me in India.

I would like to ask members that can they search for my address? Is any
dangerous thing may invol in it? They are not asking for any charges. They
only state that you have to pay local charges.

Thanks and regards,

This is completely fraud, in fact if you receive some mail with scanned
copies of original documents, I request do not fall in such matters.
It is a way of earning money and nothing else.
What they do is that they take the amount on the name of such charges like
bank, courier, and then they run away.
It is popularly known as Nigerian 419 scams. The number 419 is the section
which deals with such scams in Nigeria like how here in India IPC section
420 deals.
Because in 80s such things started from Nigeria in a way of letters and
then it came in a way of emails. So it is believed that this email
scamming comes from Nigeria, but in reality it is not so.
Anyways, just to tell you don't read such emails that's better way of
ignoring such nonsense.

Dear All,

Some good news!

As you are aware, NCPEDP in association with BarrierBreak Technologies had come
out with a draft National Policy on Electronic Accessibility a few months back.
This was discussed by the Core Group on Information Technology and later by
NCRPD-India in July 2009.

You are also aware that the Ministry of Information Technology had formed a
Drafting Committee to finalise the draft. This task was completed a month or so
back and the draft has now been put in the public domain for comments.

Re: [AI] EXCEL FORMULA

2010-04-28 Thread Zujar Shabbir Kanchwala
If I understand it correctly, specifying 2 in the Number of Decimal Places
spin box is equivalent to the round() function with 2 as second argument.
Let me make it clear that both these methods would not change 9.49 or 9.50
(numbers with 2 decimal places) if you want 2 decimal places in the result.
If you opt for 1 decimal place, 9.49 wull yield 9.5 by both methods. Also it
is not necessary to specify a cell name as the first argument of the round()
function. You would not need two cells if you specify the number itself as
the first argument of the round() function.

Subject: Re: [AI] EXCEL FORMULA

Hello,

Thanks to all of you for discussion on formulas. I think, I failed to make
my question clear. When we are using formulas, we have to use two cells,
cell A1 for entry of value, B1 for display of value, for instance. I was
looking for a format option which can solve the problem.

Let me explain it further. Suppose, you write 9.03 in cell a1. Now press
ctrl+1 for format cell dialogue box, select number category and enter 0 in
the number of decimal places. This will yield 9 in the same cell A1. Now
write 9.53 in cell A1 and you will get 10 since you have 0 decimal place in
the number format box. Experiment it with 9.49 and 9.50 and notice that the
values displayed are 9 and 10.

My question is, this is an easy alternative for the formula
=ROUND(A1,0)

Can you suggest any format option for an alternative to
=ROUND(A1,2)

In that case, we could use a single cell for both entry and display of
value.

Best regards,

Using formula you can convert 9.03 to 10 like this:

 =ceiling(9.03,1)

The CEILING() function calculates the next multiple of a number after a
 given number. The syntax is:

 =CEILING(number,significance)

Where number is the base number which you want to round off.

 And

Significance is the multiple to consider. Specifying 1 here gives you the
next non decimal number if the first argument is a decimal number.

 Examples:

=ceiling(10.5,2) gives 12 (the next multiple of 2 after 10.5)

 =ceiling(22,11) gives 22. (22 itself is a multiple of 11)

 =ceiling(6.15, 4.02) gives 8.04

 Hope that's clear...

Ok, if you use formatting features, it's handier than formulas. Isn't it?

If I understand it correctly, specifying 2 in the Number of Decimal Places
spin box is equivalent to the round() function with 2 as second argument.
Let me make it clear that both these methods would not change 9.49 or 9.50
(numbers with 2 decimal places) if you want 2 decimal places in the
result.
If you opt for 1 decimal place, 9.49 wull yield 9.5 by both methods. Also
it
is not necessary to specify a cell name as the first argument of the
round()

function. You would not need two cells if you specify the number itself as
the first argument of the round() function.

Now
write 9.53 in cell A1 and you will get 10 since you have 0 decimal place
in
the number format box. Experiment it with 9.49 and 9.50 and notice that
the

values displayed are 9 and 10.

My question is, this is an easy alternative for the formula
=ROUND(A1,0)

Can you suggest any format option for an alternative to
=ROUND(A1,2)

In that case, we could use a single cell for both entry and display of
value.

Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas

Using formula you can convert 9.03 to 10 like this:

=ceiling(9.03,1)

The CEILING() function calculates the next multiple of a number after a
given number. The syntax is:

=CEILING(number,significance)

Where number is the base number which you want to round off.

And

Significance is the multiple to consider. Specifying 1 here gives you the
next non decimal number if the first argument is a decimal number.

Examples:

=ceiling(10.5,2) gives 12 (the next multiple of 2 after 10.5)

=ceiling(22,11) gives 22. (22 itself is a multiple of 11)

=ceiling(6.15, 4.02) gives 8.04

Hope that's clear...

hi,
9.00 is the nearest round off of 9.03. so one should not expect 10 from
the formula.

Here is the solution for your problem.
Open excel sheet.
For example: write 9.03 in a1.
Go to format menu or simply press the shortcut ctrl + 1 and go to
number tab.
Choose category number-tab-decimal place 0-tab-okay-enter. Copy this
format in required column or row. your problem will be solved. Thank
you.
