[AI] FW: [linkingleads] Text to speech conversion.

2010-11-13 Thread solomon s

An interesting piece of info, just read on! With warm regards solomon.

Subject:[linkingleads] Text to speech conversion.
From: Vaseem salim

Dear friends and volunteers on the group,
did you know that, you can convert text document to speech in just a
few minutes without using any software in your computer?

Check out 10 Web-based Services For Text-To-Speech Conversion

Text to speech technology has made a lot of progress in the last
few years. Previously we had software applications which needed to be
installed on the computers for them to convert text to speech and
weren’t much effective. But now we have some excellent text to speech
services and most of them are free and of good quality.

Have you ever found yourself in a place when you just can’t focus
on your computer screen anymore? Maybe your eyes are strained by long
hours of time in front of computer or your are just feeling lazy.
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone read stuff to us, instead of reading it
yourself? You can just sit back, relax, close your eyes and listen to
the stuff you needed to read.

The Best Online Text To Speech (TTS) Websites:
With the advent of Web 2.0 and higher bandwidth and better online
application development, we have quite a few services that can convert
Text into Speech on the fly. Here we look at a few cool online web
services that let us convert text to speech quickly and easily. They are
not arranged in any particular order.

 1) SpokenText.Net
With SpokenText the possibilities are endless. You can record text
content and then easily listen to it using the playback system of your
choice. For example you could record your notes and then listen to them
while on the way to an exam. Or you could record a classic novel and
listen to it on your iPod while you take a walk or ride a bike at the
gym. You could also download the recording and burn it to a CD for
listening to on your home stereo system as you sit comfortably on the
 couch.
  SpokenText.net Features:
  • supports English, French, Spanish or German languages.
  • you can record PDF, Word, plain text, PowerPoint files, RSS news
feeds, emails and web pages and convert them to speech automatically.
  • you can share your recordings via: Podcasts or your blog using
 SpokenText badges.
You can even share the recording on your website using individual
 recording players
  • a simple, intuitive interface.
  • trial account is free and has permanent one week validity.
  Visit SpokenText.Net at http://www.spokentext.net/

 2) iSpeech.Org
Simply cut and paste the text you wish to convert to speech into
the text box and click convert text. Or, upload any supported document,
website, blog, etc. and click convert file or the listen button.
All you have to do is sit back and listen. iSpeech does all of the
work for you. If you upload a file and once your file is converted, it
will auto-play. You can download it, podcast it or even embed it as an

come across, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good. In fact it is one of
the most versatile TTS websites in this list. It beats others sites in
one feature. It can translate text for you in any language and then read
it out to you in the desired language. Other services support limited
languages but Imtranslator covers more than 10 languages for Text To

Re: [AI] angel users requested for info.

2010-11-13 Thread mukesh jain
hello,
with regard to angel device, my observations are as under:
1 the quality of music output is very good.
2 it plays daisy books well.
3 this device does not support folder management. means you can not
transfer one folder and subfolder in the device. if you transfer one
folder without having any subfolder in it then all the files gets
transfered in music ebook or daisy folder.
4 while recording human voice, if surrounding is noisy then the
recording does not come well. i have tried recording jaws reading by
keeping the device close to the computer and making the voice of jaws
louder but still the recording is not so good.
5 battery back up is nearly 15 hours.

these are my personal views about angel.

thanks,
regards,
mukesh jain.

Re: [AI] No Subject

2010-11-13 Thread namdeo
As I have stated earlier, We should not at least commit such mistakes which
could be termed as silly or stupid mistakes, that can be easily avoided.
When we spend 15 2 20 minutes for writing a mail, can we not give a single
minute to revise what we are going to send others to read, and make
corrections if there are any?. The mistake committed out of ignorance can be
understood, but, when you say that you don't need to be taught and yet you
demonstrate the need to be taught, the trouble starts there, that's all and
nothing else.

friends like Austin Pinto, who never uses any punctuation in his

your future correspondence on the net or otherwise even for your

Facebook to launch e-mail service: reports

DPA
Facebook's e-mail service will be integrated with Microsoft's recently
introduced Office online services, say reports.
APFacebook's e-mail service will be integrated with Microsoft's recently
introduced Office online services, say reports.

Facebook is set to announce a new e-mail feature on Monday that could challenge
Gmail, Yahoo mail and Hotmail as the most popular online e-mail services,
according to news reports on Friday.

The service by the popular social networking company will for the first time
allow the site's 500 million members to use "@facebook.com" addresses and will
also be integrated with Microsoft's recently introduced Office online services.

The tech news blog TechCrunch, which first reported the development, said the
Facebook service would be a full-featured e-mail client.

"Facebook is completely rewriting their messaging product and is preparing to
launch a fully featured webmail product in its place, according to a source
with knowledge of the product," TechCrunch wrote.

The development comes amid growing rivalry between Facebook and Google, which
this week raised salaries across the board to pre-empt defections to the social
network site. Google also recently cut off Facebook's access to its own e-mail
product to prevent Facebook from importing Gmail address books until Facebook
allows Google to access data on its site.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not sure how this works. What I want to
accomplish is that after I delete or move a file from windows explorer, I want
jaws to begin reading the list of files from where I left off instead of
beginning at the top of the list.

I hope that answers your question and again, thanks for any help.

I am using windows xp with jaws 11,

it will not be selected.

In a

Is there
