Hi All This is no laptop not even a nettop but big sceen mobile device with Windows CE found in Mobile is use. I think JAWS will not work. Also it has not hard disk but flash ram of 2 gb that cannot be upgraded. It is waste of money product. Better buy atleast proper nettop like SamsungN210 or N150 that was recently supplied by shasham ,delhi. A 'Braille-iant' idea, Globe for the visually-impaired For students of Blind People's Association (BPA) the world is a dark place. But this is set to change as they will soon be able to find out how vast and beautiful the earth is with its oceans and different continents. The credit for this goes to three students from Germany, who are interning at BPA. Milan Wesseler, Nicholas Seebens and Elly Giuliani, the three students from Germany came up with a novel idea of creating a globe in Braille for the students of BPA. Made with plaster of Paris (POP) material, the newly designed globe has been made using various attractive synthetic enamel colours so that even students with low vision or those who are partially visually impaired can make use of it. Interestingly, the students embossed sooji on different areas to highlight various countries by providing different textures to different countries. Speaking to DNA, Elly shared, "We always had it in mind to do something for the students. After a long discussion, we came up with this idea. Around 80% of the work is complete. Just the labelling of names of the countries in Braille will be done after the colour applied dries up." Also, threads will be used to mark latitudes and longitudes on the globe. Shelly Bapna, the public relations officer of BPA said, "This is the first time that such an informative novel model has been prepared by volunteering students. The model, which weighs more than 10 kg, will be used for the students starting this week." The entire project took three weeks to complete. "We knew we had to design a product for an entirely different audience. From my side it is a complete thumbs down. In this laptop (rather a net book ) Windows (if it comes with Windows 7) alone costs about Rs. 6000. .If you really want a cheep laptop try to get a free Operating System like Google's Chrome OS which is made for less hard -disk space and instead for utilizing cloud computing. Then you would have a better chance of getting good hardware Those things are also like a dream in India due to limited Internet speeds and high cost for data usage. And in today's world when 512 MB of RAM is available in every smart phone 128 MB of RAM seems really inadequate. [AI] Awareness building seminar in Amravati, Maharashtra
Hi, Eyeway, a project of Score Foundation, Delhi, is a knowledge resource about living a fulfilling life with blindness/low-vision. One of our five ways to disseminate this knowledge is through workshops & seminars. Amravati seminar & its objective A one day interactive meeting is organised in Amravati towards raising awareness of visually impaired people, NGOs and special educators. The seminar aims to apprise people about useful assistive technologies, education in mainstream schools, the different fields of education & career options, improving their social inclusion, skill development and government and legal provisions. Leading visually impaired people & others from Vidarbha region have extended their voluntary support to us, without which it would not have been possible to organise the seminar. Who can participate Visually impaired people who are determined about moving ahead in life, special educators who believe in the potential of blind people, NGOs working towards inclusion, and parents who want to see their child becoming a self-reliant and a contributing person are encouraged to contact and register with us. I have been using IE9 from the time when it was released with Jaws 12. The latest built of Jaws supports it properly, so no issues as such. Small problems might arise, but all is manageable. About firefox, the answer is yes, you can use it without big problems using Jaws latest built. As far as crome is concerned, use NVDA latest built and google crome latest built.
