Re: [AI] How to use FM radio in Nokia C5?

2012-08-19 Thread Ajay Minocha
hi,
But firstly either ask some sighted friend to set all the frequencies
of the stations or just manually save all the stations and thereafter
do the same setting in talks which is mentioned in the above email. it
works fine. But from my personal experience I must say that in my e5
though talks is set to mute automatically whenever radio starts but as
soon as the light turns off and if I want to change the station by
errow keys then talks speakes something and radio gets sielent. To
overcome that I have not only set talks to be muted automatically but
whenever I press enter on radio I manually mute talks then it doesn't
give me any problem. Hope I am successful to make my point clear
enough.

Hi,

1. You can create notes the same way as you used to do it on N72. Go to
Menu>Applications>Office>Notes.

2. You are right, you can not use Talks and Radio at the same time. To
overcome this, do the following:
Launch Radio and open the Talks settings by Talks+*. Go to options and
select "Apps Specific settings". Talks would read "Radio, using Standard
settings only". Again go to options and click on "Add App Specific Value"
and arrow down to "Mute" and select. Change it from "No to "Yess" and exit.

Next time when you would open the radio, the talks would be muted
automatically and exiting the radio would again unmute the talks.

Re: [AI] windows 7 users please help me arjently!!!

2012-08-19 Thread Amiyo Biswas

I don't use Amis. Better check for the latest version.

As for email, I did not find anything in windows 7 as easy as outlook
express. I have tried ms outlook, thunder bird and windows live mail. The
last one is the best. But the windows addressbook does not work in any of
these. I think, I shall continue with windows xp for outlook express alone.

For time format, go to regional settings. Start typing date and time in the
search box on the start menu. the date and time options will come up.

For turning off the monitor, you may try these steps:

Press Window logo key + p for Projection Options dialogue box.

It has four options - Computer only, Duplicate, Extend, and Projector only.
Use Arrow keys or the Tab key to locate the last option and press Enter on
it.

Windows will warn you that no projector is detected with the Revert button
selected. Tab over to the Keep Changes button and activate it using Enter.

When you want, you can turn the monitor back on using the same procedure.
Select Computer only in the third staep instead of Projector only option

Hai Timy,
regarding your first problem, had you installed java run tine environment?
Latest amis requires java 1.6 or later versions. You can find it from
www.java.com

2. It has got 12 hour format. I shall check it and let you know soon.
3. I am not using thunder bird and so can't help you. 4. Monitor has only
that sof touch control pannal and has no other solution other than
touching it. Try to make a paper shield so that it exposes only the power
button and fix it there using salo tape.
I am using samsung net book with win7 ultimate for the last one year. And
I haven't found any problem except for the first one and it was overcome
by installing java. JAWS is muted since you have installed JAWS script for
amis. If you can skip that installation window of amis, JAWS WILL WORK
always. For opening new file we need the help of Jaws. Here JAWS will work
even if you have installed scripts. Any way install java and give a try.

hai dear access Indian friends, how r u all?

hope, all are doing great.

friends, reasondly, I installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit in my system.

after installing it, I faced lots of problem while using it.

They are:

1. unable to work with AMIS daisy reader.

while using amis it was telling loding, loding jaws is muted and self
voicing is activated, but nothing functioning there.

I tried with all hot keys, and try to open a book, but unfortunately no
luck.

after some time I got a message:, Amis dialog, amis is stopped working,
windows can't find the solution online.

I uninstalled and re installed several time with the help of one free
software revo uninstaller which will delete all the registry keys
fully, but then also I got the same errerr which I have mentioned above.

 2. another problem is the time format is showing 24 hours.

I and my computer technician tried lots of time settings under date and
time page, but there also we where bad luck.

3. couldn't find any export option under mozila thunderbird address
book contact like our outlook express, is there any way to do the same?

4. accessability problem with my new samsang L E D moniter.

dears this moniter doesn't have no key to turn on and turn it of, only
the way to do both is, while tuching under screen.

as a blind person, it is really difficult to me.

dear friend please tell me is there any way to do the same like our
laptop?

hope, my experienced friends will reply soon.

thanks in advance your friend,

Timy.

Re: [AI] RP & hopelessness

2012-08-19 Thread Geetha Shamanna
Hi Ekinath,

I fully understand your fear of losing the little vision you have, although
it is practically of no use. Although I have been nearly blind since birth,
the little vision I have had has kept me going. Just being able to see light
makes me cheerful as well, especially on sunny days.

Did you have your eyes examined for cataract? Doctors recently discovered
cataract in both my eyes and operated them. I have been able to see a lot
more light ever since.

I do not wish to raise hopes -- cataract surgeries don't always result in an
improvement in vision. But if you do undergo tests for cataract now or later
and if doctors do determine cataract, do have it removed. It might help
sometimes.

It is important to accept reality otherwise and carry on with life. Try
learning to meditate. It is an effective way of grounding oneself in
reality.

Subject: [AI] RP & hopelessness

Hi Friends,

Today and last night I was a little senti.

My right eye in which I have mere light vision has been paining for couple
of days and therefore, I visited a specialist.

She told me nothing abnormal nieghter pressure not anything to worry but
just an usual degeneration of my retina due to RP and recent maleria.

So it means I might lose my taken for granted just a light perception.

Friends, it struck me hard.

I have zero vision in my left eye. And some of you will exactly understand
what it means. I mean I shared this with my close friend but she could not
appreciate and said "then it will go all dark right?"

No sighted person can understand this but totally blind persons.

I am very scared to lose this little vision. Practically, this remaining
vision is of no use, but I can see light which makes me cheerful. I can make
out shadows etc. and appreciate weather.

But it might go away and then what will follow is not even darkness, but
complete elimination of one of the senses.

I will never be able to see again.

What frustrates me is that there's no way out or around RP to be able to
enjoy the beautiful gift of seeing partially though.

So questions for the learned and experienced:

1. Can I anyhow retain what little I have?
2. If I lose all my sight will any break through treatment in future
can be availed by me because they say at least little vision is must to
treat.

Last but not the least:

I have made up my mind to enjoy every bit moment that has been given to me
before I lose all my sight.
I will take lot of leaves and plan more outings so those last moments of
light are saved in before it's time for darkness, hmmm, no I don't know how
to describe that but it's more horrible than darkness.

kindly answer my queries and help me do the best in circumstances.

Cheers

Hai friend,
please don't lose your heart. When I was ready to undertake my job in 2002
after completing my electronic engineering deploma, I lost my sight in just 10
days! I couldn't even join at my work place. I too am suffering from RP. The
doctors had nothing to say. Now I have a shadow vision. To be precise 1/60, so
says my doctor. Now I have recovered my shock and ready to face the future. Let
us hope for the best. Stem cell treatment and the like are fast improving fast.
Be coragious. Everything will be OK ONEDAY. We shall overcome deep in

OK but in my subject(law) every third person is likely to have more
then 100 marks in third paper, which may be good marit for the award
of JRF. It mean government has to give JRF in bulk, may be government
doesn't has such money to invest on educational purposes.

[AI] Ramkaran Singh, Visually challenged has been recommended for Arjuna Award

2012-08-19 Thread avinash shahi
My hearty Congratulations to Ramkaran
he certainly has made the community proud.
Many will emulate him for sure
And all the best to him for future tournaments
Vijay Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt recommended for Khel Ratna
Special Correspondent
London Olympic medallists — shooter Vijay Kumar and wrestler Yogeshwar
Dutt — have been recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award,
the nation’s highest honour for sportsmen for a specific achievement
in a year.

However, the choice, made on Saturday by a panel headed by Athens
Olympics silver-medal-winning trap shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore,
goes against the rules and system devised by the Union Sports Ministry
for conferring such awards, but is said to have been approved by the
Ministry, or might have even been initiated by it. With the country’s
mood being upbeat following a record medal haul in the Olympics, and
awards and cash incentives being showered on the winners, the Ministry
might not have wanted the ‘rules’ to come in the way of honouring the
achievers, many of whom are being honoured for their performances in
2010.

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who fought off cancer, is among the list of
names recommended for the Arjuna Award. Also in the list are badminton
player P. Kashyap, archer Deepika Kumari, hockey player Sardar Singh
and squash player Dipika Pallikal.

Breaking all previous records for such nominations, the panel
recommended 25 sportspersons for the Arjuna Award. The reason given
“this is the Olympic year,” however, engenders the question: “Which
year was the panel considering?”

If it was 2011, which looked to be the case since applications closed
on April 30, with a special extension granted till July 20 for the
Board of Control for Cricket in India that missed the earlier
deadline, the argument about honouring the Olympics achievers would
not arisen.

That six days after the end of the Olympics some of the performances
of the Indian athletes at the London Games were apparently taken into
consideration for the Arjuna Award will set a precedent for future
awards.

The idea of enlarging the list based on the ‘Olympics argument’,
however, was not reflected in the list of recommendations for the
Arjuna Award. Only shooter Joydeep Karmarkar, with a fourth-place
finish, and weightlifter Soniya Chanu, with a seventh-place effort,
made some impact in London from among the 25 chosen for the Arjun
Award.

It is pertinent to note that the 2008 Olympic Games medallists —
wrestler Sushil Kumar and boxer Vijender Singh — were honoured with
the Khel Ratna, along with boxer Mary Kom for her fourth World
championship title that came in 2009.

The big exception in the number of Arjuna awardees since 2001 was in
2002, when 21 received the award. The rules read that for both the
Khel Ratna and the Arjuna Award “the Award will be made in respect of
the calendar year for which the applications are invited.”

The Ministry does have the right to nominate a deserving candidate in
case recommendations are not received from the federations and State
governments.

However, so far the Ministry has not given the achievers at the
Olympics or any other championships ‘instant recognition’. In the
apparent rush to honour Olympic heroes, the ones to miss out would be
those who performed well in 2011. Double trap shooter Ronjan Sodhi won
the World Cup last year, boxer Vikas Krishan claimed the bronze in the
World championships, while the women’s badminton doubles-team of Jwala
Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa won a bronze in the World championships.
Also in contention could have been cricketer Rahul Dravid.

Nominees

The following have been recommended for the Arjuna Award: Ashwini
Ponnappa, P. Kashyap (badminton), Yuvraj Singh (cricket), Sandeep
Sejwal (swimming), Vikas Krishan (boxing), Yashpal Solanki (judo),
Omkar Singh, Annuraj Singh, Joydeep Karmakar (shooting), Geeta,
Narsingh Yadav, Ravinder Singh (wrestling), Soniya Chanu
(weightlifting), Sudha Singh, Kavita Raut (athletics), Bombayla Devi,
Deepika Kumari (archery), Samir Suhag (polo), Sardar Singh (hockey),
Deepa Malik, Ramkaran Singh (Paralympics), Aditya Mehta (billiards),
Anup Kumar (kabaddi), Dipika Pallikal (squash), Bimoljit Singh
(wushu).
