Then that RPF jawan with in 5 minute vacated the coach using force, surprisingly there was only 1 PH sitting in the coach. Friends now what happened at the next station that guard came to us and asked me my certificate and ticket, I gave him and he took it to his compartment. He did not returned it untill we reached Delhi, when I approached him to take my certificate then he very strongly said to me that it is not our duty to vacate the coach and in future never complain. Yes, the guard was supervising the coach and was not allowing any passenger who does not have a disability. I was shocked, when there are two coaches, why they do not offer necessary support. Since that was a station where train halts almost 20 minutes, those folks were able to walk all over the train, but what could have happened if train halts only for a minute or two or if they are mobility impaired? hello, just last week, one of my friend was travelling from mumbai to nagpur. while she was in her handicapped coach in which she was all most alone initially but after some station, few people boarded in that compartment. since she was visually challenged person, she had warned the arriving passendgers about this coach and not to travael if they are not handicapped. on this warning, some people replied that they are handicapped as they have got some injuries in their legs but do not have any certificate. she could not argue with them much since she was alone and thought to make her journey with no hassels. everything was fine till few stations but suddently on one station, one stranger came to sit next to her seat. from his talking and the smell, she could make out that he is drunker. so after sometime, he started conversing with her and began to react to touch her. seeing this, she had changed her seat but that didn't worked well for her as he followed her. here she could not take any other passenger's help since distance to next station was very far from there. she imediately sms me her coach number, problem description in short. reacting to her problem imediately, i had sent the sms to the number 9717630182 and also used my personal contacts with some rail officials and requested them to take the action quickly failing which i had also informed that i should be forced to take this issue with press and police. to my surprise, before reaching the train at the next station,i and my friend received the call from some ticket collectors of that train who were in other compartment and informed me and her not to worry and asured their full cooperation. don't know how before the train reached to next station, how we have received couple of calls from railway may be certainly because of complaints which they had also mentioned in their call but from the ticket collector this information had been reached so quickly which was not at all expected. on the next station, some railway official took that person in their custody and took him somewhere which we are not aware and my friend had been given other alternate accomodation in the sleeper class with reserved seat. so really hats off to the complaint system of railway due to which she could make safe journey! but this is how sometime it becomes risky in travelling handicapped coach which is not connected from inside with other compartments if it would be so, she could easily approach other passengers imediately. this was our experience. thanks, mukesh. Accused Ajay Telgote (20), a gardener in Vayusena Nagar, was arrested within some hours of the crime by the investigating officer, woman police sub-inspector Deepmala Bhende. Police said the victim identified the accused by his voice. According to the police, Telgote had gone to watch television at the victim's house when he committed the heinous crime. Though they were neighbours, the victim would rarely speak to Telgote. Her parents said she would only step out of the house to attend her school, said Bhende. On Wednesday morning, the victim's mother was at home when Telgote came to watch television. The victim's parents work as labourers in Vayusena Nagar. Police said that the victim's mother left home around noon for her work. Before leaving, she asked Telgote to go home since she wanted to lock the house, but he assured to lock the house after the serial ends, said Bhende. Finding himself alone with the girl, Telgote sexually assaulted her. Police said the victim screamed and tried to fight him but Telgote beat and gagged her. Before fleeing from the house, he even threatened the victim that he would kill her if she told anybody about the incident. Police said that the victim's 8-year-old mentally challenged younger brother was asleep in the same room when the incident took place. The victim's father has been out of town for the last two days. Police said the victim even suffered minor bruises while resisting him. The incident came to fore when the victim's mother returned home from work in the evening and found her daughter frightened. While asking her what happened, the mother found blood stains on her dress understood the matter. With the help of her neighbours, she reported the matter to senior officials at Vayusena Nagar, who approached Gittikhadan police. On confirming the medical reports, a rape case was registered. The girl's statement was recorded after she was declared fit by doctors. Later, a police team headed by Bhende was sent to Telgote's house to arrest him. Rape is not the only form of sex abuse that a child can go through. Statistics say that 51% of children- both male and female- in India face abuse; while 80 to 90% of disabled children face one form of sexual abuse or the other. It is often noticed that parents and caregivers – irrespective of their education and other background- shy away from talking to their children about child sex abuse and safety. The mildest form of abuse – like forced touching or stroking- can leave the deepest impact on the child and his/her entire life. It’s outrageous and reminds me of the need to be very vigilant for every child against so called neighbors, uncles, Dadas etc. etc. You just can’t leave them alone. I pray that the girl in this case is a brave child and able to come out of it for good and don’t keep the invisible scars in her heart for ever. As to the justice? Sit back and relax. Hi Sagar, Never heard of you. New to Mumbai? Sad that nobody replied because nobody is really so mad about sports at least in Mumbai. I do go for trekking on and off. Also I am mad about playing cricket with that chin chin ball. We had a maddening cricket time on the beach of Murud near Alibaag last week end. We blinds could run freely almost a mile and there was nobody to bang in to or nothing to hurt or feet or body. Only next day at office I was walking crooked. We also played cards and hand cricket of 6 stones. So there is lots to play given we have some sporty guys around. And ha, in Xavier’s few active lads play foot ball. People play ches etc. but I don’t like it much as much as out door games and anyway, much of my brains is consumed at the office. Hahahah! I request BGFI to organize a trip at murud the beach was completely accessible. And let Vis have a run for their freedom with out a stick or a hand. Before fleeing from the house, he even threatened the victim that he would kill her if she told anybody about the incident. Police said that the victim's 8-year-old mentally challenged younger brother was asleep in the same room when the incident took place. The victim's father has been out of town for the last two days. Police said the victim even suffered minor bruises while resisting him. The incident came to fore when the victim's mother returned home from work in the evening and found her daughter frightened. While asking her what happened, the mother found blood stains on her dress understood the matter. With the help of her neighbours, she reported the matter to senior officials at Vayusena Nagar, who approached Gittikhadan police. On confirming the medical reports, a rape case was registered. The girl's statement was recorded after she was declared fit by doctors. Later, a police team headed by Bhende was sent to Telgote's house to arrest him.
