Is now Kindle for PC accessible? Voiceover doesn't read by paragraph

Re: [AI] Accessible Linux

2014-04-30 Thread Arjun Malhotra
I've used Vinux. The screen reader launches as soon as you plug in
your USB drive and boot your system. The boot image provides 2 options
first is to try vinux without installing on your hdd and other is
install. I'm not sure but somewhere I read that every linix based OS
is accessable from very beginning, There is a keyboard command to
launch Orka the screen reader as soon as you boot up for install.
Havent tried it though you can google it up.

2014-04-30 Thread Sagar Sodah
Hi,

I am a software developer, so i want to set up a nodejs and mongodb
environment on my other laptop. Its screen is fully damaged, so sighted
help isnt an easy option.

Has anyone installed Vinux or Sonar successfullly without sighted
assistance?

I am considering going for a hackintosh instead of linux, i should be able
to do everything i want to do on linux on a mac as well.

Subject: [AI] DVD writer in Windows7

Dear Friends,

I have recently switched to Windows7 from XP after using it for nine long
years. In Windows XP, we could write a CD by copying a file or a folder,
pasting it to the CD Drive and clicking the option "Write these files to
CD". Is this facility extended to DVD writing in Windows7? Moreover, I have
found an application called "Windows DVD maker" in All program submenu. How
can we use it? Please provide step-byy-step instructions.

Thanks in anticipation.

[AI] DVD writer in Windows7

2014-04-30 Thread Ashik
Dear Friends,

I have recently switched to Windows7 from XP after using it for nine long
years. In Windows XP, we could write a CD by copying a file or a folder,
pasting it to the CD Drive and clicking the option "Write these files to CD".
Is this facility extended to DVD writing in Windows7? Moreover, I have found an
application called "Windows DVD maker" in All program submenu. How can we use
it? Please provide step-byy-step instructions.

Thanks in anticipation.

Re: [AI] Accessible Linux

2014-04-30 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi.
I am researching on the same topic.
On the whole Linux is not very accessible or it doesn't have as
advanced screen readers. In terms of accessibility, Windows is better.
However to access the power of Linux, there are two distributions
specially designed for the visually impaired/disabled; namely Vinux
and Sonar.
I am currently trying to learn both the distributions and decide which
one is better
Also, have a look at Zipspeak, a talking mini-distribution.
Please do share with me if you make any progress in learning Linux or
discovering something new and interesting.
Contact details are given below but still my e-mail id is

Hope that helps.

Re: [AI] TTS For Orca

2014-04-30 Thread Shreedhar TS.
Hello,

I used eSpeak and found the response fairly good and quick.
I used it on Ubuntu 10, sometimes back, with orca and was satisfied.

I think, you can surely give it a try.

[AI] Links List dialog box for Orca?

2014-04-30 Thread Bhavya shah
Dear all.
In advanced Windows screen readers such as JAWS & NVDA we press the
modifier key + F7 to get the list of links on the current webpage.
Similarly, is there any such option in the Orca screen reader?
I would appreciate any assistance.

Re: [AI] C - C++ IDE for windows7 64 bit

2014-04-30 Thread Rejin Jose k.
hello friend,
dev c++ is quite accesible. you can type the codes in notepad and save
with .c /cpp extension. then open with dev c++,compile and run. if
there is any errors jaws will read the first one from the top. after
clearing it again compile then it will read the next error. if there
is no errors a command prompt will be opened to show your output. it
is also accesible.

Re: [AI] Regarding windows 8.1 update.

2014-04-30 Thread Austin Pinto
hi.
yes its more accessable.
do u have the serial key?
if yes u can directly download the iso from microsoft.
to download this iso go to.
http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/windows-81-tip-download-windows-81-iso-windows-8-product-key
however u need to take care of some things.
1. download the iso from the pc that your going to upgrade.
2. in the download process there will be a option to create iso check that.
3. you can only apply this iso to this pc.
4. if u want iso for other pc then u need to download from that pc
using the product key of the pc

Dear friend's good morning to all of you:

Just now I cost my vote. Due to non availability of Braille stickers on E V Ms
I used escort services to cost my vote. In 2009 general elections Braille
stickers were pasted on E V Ms and supplied list of candidates in Braille.

Re: [AI] Admission help

2014-04-30 Thread rama anjaneyulu
let me share my experience with you, for best college with hostel facility
Hi, I am Ramanjaneyulu. I completed my schooling in G.R.S.V.H. School
which is based out in Hindupur (Anantapur DT) with 67 aggregate
percentage. I studied up to 10th class in Reasonable Language, Telugu
medium. I was not aware of English language. But my desire was to join
in English medium college for higher studies. I was searching for
special and better English medium colleges for visually challenged
persons. here I came to know about this special college. Let me
share with you. The college Netravidyalaya is special and unique
college only one in the history of world, which facilitates Latest
technology of Education, good Hostel accommodations with free of cost
for the visually challenged persons. The college offers both
Intermediate and Degree courses respectively Commerce, Economics and
Civics (C.E.C.), History Economics and Civics (H.E.C.), B.of
Commerce and Computers and B.of Arts with laptops. The main Motto
of the college is to make the visually challenged persons independent.
Their Innovative idea is those students should not be depended on
other persons (Scribes) for their exams, they should give their exams
by their own on laptops. They use laptops by using Special Screen
reader software, which is called as JAWS (Job Access With Speech)
designed by freedom scientific corporation. The College
Netravidyalaya Junior college is foundation for me to dig my inner
skills which is run by Chinna jeeyar swamiji.. This is the base for me
to stand at this position. There I completed my 12th class with
Commerce Economics Civics (C.E.C.) group by securing 75.6%. I felt
very happy to secure this much of results, because up to 10th class I
depended some other persons to give my exams, they are called scribes.
They used to read out the question paper, we used to answer orally
again they used write what ever we tell. The scribe persons are 8th
standard children. So they don't know some symbols in Math's and don't
know how to write. So they was a problem. Here it is totally different
because in our college laptop is given to the each individual student
as a guiding stick to improve their skills. So I could write my exams
by my own. In the same institution only I completed successfully
graduation with B.Com (Computers) with 81% affiliated to the Osmonia
University.

After completion of my graduation I came to SOA IT Solutions Pvt Ltd
for internship. Here I learned many things.

I am new to the software platform. I got PeopleSoft URL
and able to
access with our Screen reader software. It helps us in navigation of
PeopleSoft application. After exploring some PPTs and Online books
about PeopleSoft I acquainted knowledge in PeopleSoft. I learned Core
HRMS, Work force administration, adding a person, correlating with org
relations, assigning multiple assignments etc. Now I am able to add a
person data into PeopleSoft application. In the current training I had
two assignments. I completed one assignment successfully because it
was very easy. 2nd one is quite different and completed successfully
by learning new things. Really swethansu sir is helping us greatly
with patients. There are some concepts in which I need to improve my
skills and knowledge. After taking some sessions, I am more
confident in moving my career into IT Sector. I am interested to
continue my professional career in software sector. I want to acquire
in-depth knowledge in PeopleSoft it's a interesting.

I have always been a little embarrassed about by my technical skills
After taking this PeopleSoft Sessions I feel much more confident in
my technical aspects, and I believe that my academicals, professional
and even personal life have benefited greatly from this newly found
skill. Even though I have been reading all my life, I now have better
appreciation for the effort and work. Although I currently work in
the IT field, I would like to move into a more administrative
position, and I feel I am much better prepared because of the skills I
have learned here. As a final note this Training has greatly benefited
me academically, professionally, and personally.

residencial fascilities,
If possible,
Please suggest me as soon as possible.

[AI] Regarding windows 8.1 update.

2014-04-30 Thread Ajay Minocha
Hi friends,
I am running jenuan windows 8 which I want to update to windows 8.1.
However, I have following questions before applying the update.
1. any differences in the accessibility after applying the update?
2. I can download the file only once therefore, is there any way which
can let me directly install or apply the update without using internet
connection when I format my pc for the next time?
3. Please tell me the steps to do the same.
Thanks,
Ajay

so try again and let me know.
if u won't be able to download this time also, then I'll try to upload
that file also on solid files.
but please don't tell me to upload on dropbox or send space, cause,
solid files and uppit r the only 2 sites, where I know to upload.
