 hello all,
The camera for blind looks very interesting by knowing Mr. Bhavesh
taking the first shoot, I felt very happy. I have also visited the
official website of cameraforblind.org. but, it doesn’t contain any
details about the devices and its affordability. So, can anyone
please give the the details of the device, its expenses, usage and how
to buy it? Is the device affordable for all? Is there any small and
quick course to learn it soon?

Contrary to what she had read and heard, disability wasn't debilitating. In
spite of my impairment, there was still a lot I thought I could do. I felt
like the same person inside, Shivani writes. Divided into five sections
(Rebirth, Discovering the Spirit, Learning to Fly, Gaining Acceptance and
Another Journey), the book takes the reader through the events of her
personal and professional life, which had a common thread in Vikas, her
companion of 10 years, and later her husband.

Hi Bijal,
Don't worry! If you are using mobile speak then you will get a free mobile
color recognizer. I'm using it since last 6-7 years easily. It's very useful
to choose dresses with color matching and so on.

Hope this will help you.

[AI] Captcha security Immage of Allahabad Bank's Internet Banking Page

2014-05-11 Thread Himanshu Sahu
Dear Friends,
I use Allahabad Bank's internet banking. Hitherto, it was working
perfectly, but recently they have added Captcha Security at its login
page and to solve it, we either need to take sighted assistance or use
service of websites like webvism.

Specially it becomes difficult while transacting through bank's
intranet site. Every time I am compelled to take the help of any of my
colleagues.

Another fact is that I never trust third party services while
transacting through internet banking, but here I have to take the help
of webvism, which in my opinion, a compromise with the security of
bank account.

So, friends please share with me whether any other bank asks to solve
captcha image for transacting via internet banking?
Based on your responses I will prepare a strong case for VI users and
represent it to the Bank CBS Office and Higher authorities in Head
Office for removing it from bank's site.

Looking for your responses...

Dear Friends,
I use Allahabad Bank's internet banking. Hitherto, it was working perfectly,

your hardearned money on something which is recent one and will be
stable for next 2 to 3 years. Certainly iPhone s5 is out of your
budget range, otherwise I would have recommended u to go for iPhone.
But I would advise u to go to Nexus 5 which is available for 24000
rupees. Its the best handset out there in market with latest android,
or consider to purchase moto x.

[AI] How to Create a Blog Website from the Ground Up

2014-05-11 Thread Sakthi TAB
1 Decide on a name. You want something that 'flows'. Something that
is descriptive, flows, and if you want to become known at all, is
brand worthy.
2 Decide if you want your own blog on your own site, or if you want to
use one of the many blogging platforms. Those are ones like Blogspot,
Wordpress, and many others. Don't limit yourself to those two, they
are just a place to begin looking. You might find a better fit with
one of the lesser known ones. Use your favorite search engine to find
one.
3 Create an account on your chosen blog site (if you choose that method).
* This is probably a better method for those who just plan on blogging
for your friends and family.
4 Be aware that creating your own blog site on your own domain is not
free. The advantage is that you have much more administrative control
with it and much more flexibility.
5 Find a site that allows you to register your domain name. This is
only necessary if you are creating your own blog on your own website.
6 Find a server. Basically, a server will be the place that your
blog/domain calls home. Depending on who you know and what you find,
this can cost a minimal amount per month, or be a yearly cost, or be
free.
7 Get an account on the server. You will need to have an account there
for you to get the information that you will put on your domain once
you have acquired it.
8 Find out what the nameserver information is on the server. That is
the information that you will need to plug into wherever you bought
your domain from.
* It will look something like ns20.nameserver.com and ns21.nameserver.com.
9 Wait for the information from the server you have. It will have
information as to how to do many of the things that you will need to
do to start a blog.
10 Find some blogging software. Things that you will want to take into
consideration are ease of use and cost.
Using more popular software has the huge advantage of being able to
find themes for it. Themes are what make up the look of your blog and
can truly make it or break it.
11 Log into your account. Your initial screen should tell you the
options that you have with your website. One thing that you will want
to do is set up an email account or accounts.
12 Install Wordpress (or your chosen software) onto your domain. You
might be able to have your domain server support load it onto the
domain.
* If that isn't an option, check your dashboard (you may call it
something different) for your domain.
* You should have a variety of options for you. In cPanel, it is under
Fantastico De Luxe.
13 Find out the various options that you have for submitting articles
to your blog. Some ways are:
* Using a particular email address and email articles to your blog.
* Entering your articles straight into a data interface on your domain.
14 Create categories on your blog. It may seem unnecessary now, but
you will want to have some kind of order in your blog and categories
help you do that.
15 Look for plugins. Some plugins that you might want are for:
* Site Security
* Site Administration
* SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
* Site Statistics
* Formatting tools
16 Make an entry into your blog. This can help you decide if anything
is missing.

[AI] Talking ATM Locater in India

2014-05-11 Thread Mr. Banker
Know what a Talking ATM is? You know but a recap: facilitating
independent transaction to the visually impaired - the Talking ATM has
raised buttons, gives voice guidance via headphone and for secrecy and
security reasons lets the blind to turn off the screen. Read a
detailed article here.

Talking ATM is an excellent piece of accessibility, but often people
with visual disabilities remain unaware about it even if it stands
near them. Therefore, the necessity of a tool to check the
availability of Talking ATMs was felt - prompting the trio of Sameer
Thakur, Prashant Naik and Saidarshan Bhagat to launch the first Indian
Talking ATM Locator in the form of TalkingATMIndia.org.

Hi Bijal,

Your best bet is the colorino. It works significantly better than any of the
mobile phone applications that people may suggest because it has a reference
light. Mobile phone applications do not have that feature and are less
accurate and need to be calibrated when light levels change.

official website of cameraforblind.org. but, it doesn’t contain any
details about the devices and its affordability. So, can anyone

to buy it? Is the device affordable for all? Is there any small and

 Page

 Dear Friends,
I use Allahabad Bank's internet banking. Hitherto, it was working
 perfectly,
but recently they have added Captcha Security at its login page and to
 solve
it, we either need to take sighted assistance or use service of websites
 like webvism.

Specially it becomes difficult while transacting through bank's intranet
site. Every time I am compelled to take the help of any of my colleagues.

Another fact is that I never trust third party services while
 transacting
through internet banking, but here I have to take the help of webvism,
 which
in my opinion, a compromise with the security of bank account.

So, friends please share with me whether any other bank asks to solve
captcha image for transacting via internet banking?
Based on your responses I will prepare a strong case for VI users and
represent it to the Bank CBS Office and Higher authorities in Head Office
for removing it from bank's site.

 Looking for your responses...

Better if we could discuss on dedicated mobile accessibility list,
yet, in short, nexus devices are stock devices, mean the hardware has
been provided by LG presently and the pure android has been supplied
by google directly with out any change. When ever next update is
available, these are the devices to receive it first. The hardwares of
nexus devices are much much better than Samsung, such as battery and
over all built quality. More over nexus 5 uses 2gb ram with 2.3ghz
fast processor, which u will not find in Samsung device in similar
price range. If u have 25 thousands in hand, go for nexus or moto x, u
will not regret it, provided u r going to try android.

[AI] breast cancer awarness for disabled women

2014-05-11 Thread Kotian, H P
All
A very useful info. Pl read on. The post did not get to the list.

Harish Kotian

This is a forward from another list. Kanchan
Dear list
There is massive increase in the number of cases of breast cancer and more of
younger women are getting affected. Because of neglect and ignorance most of
the women present symptoms beyond the earlier stage. There is an equal risk of
breast cancer for women with disabilities as it is for non-disabled women. But
the challenges we face for detecting, controlling, and treating it are often
greater than those of non-disabled women. Unfortunately there are no
information pamphlets for women with disabilities. Knowledge of the symptoms
and factors that contribute towards it growth is important. The chances of
getting breast cancer sometimes increase more in women with disabilities
because of certain obvious conditions like obesity due to lack of mobility,
lesser chances of breast feeding etc.
Women with all kind of disabilities must be taught the Self Examination
techniques. If they are unable to do it their care providers should be trained
in it. . Breast self-examinations (BSEs) are a simple, private, quick way of
taking control over one's own breast health. The care providers of women with
learning and developmental disabilities have to be given some extra tips.
Keeping in view the need to bring about awareness and dissemination of
information on this subject, I have come out with a handbook or the women with
disabilities. The book by the name of Keeping You Abreast, is bilingual i.e. it
is in English and Hindi. I have also tried to bring it out in accessible
formats i.e. in print form, audio books and e-book. It is also available at
Google Play Store.

Re: [AI] Captcha security Immage of Allahabad Bank's InternetBanking Page

2014-05-11 Thread Himanshu Sahu
Friends thanks for your responses...
But I am looking for the answer whether any other bank asks the same
captcha security code to be solved. Please share your experiences...

ToKasia:
There is already three level security in my bank's internet banking system viz.,
a) login password
b) transaction password and,
c) one time password (OTP) which is sent to the customer's mobile at
the time of transaction.

To Bhawani Bhai:
Please go ahead with filing a PIL with the help of any of delhi based
NGOs, ask me if any support is needed.

To Hozifa:
Your idea sounds good but we can not use it while transacting through
bank's intra-net site while sitting in office (I am myself employee of
Allahabad Bank).
The another idea may be to introduce alternative sound captcha option
for VI users as I have seen it on many standard sites.

Friends, kindly revert with your experiences whether other banks also
use captcha security or not. After findings I am going to write to my
bank's HO and CBS office to consider its removal (if other banks do
not use it) or alternative sound option (in case if it is prevalent in
all bank's internet banking).

You can submit a blank page before entering any login details into it.
That way the security should not compromised.

 result at all.

Ask them to go with OTP or something similar to that instead.

 Page

 Dear Friends,
I use Allahabad Bank's internet banking. Hitherto, it was working
 perfectly,
but recently they have added Captcha Security at its login page and to
 solve
it, we either need to take sighted assistance or use service of websites
 like webvism.

Specially it becomes difficult while transacting through bank's intranet
site. Every time I am compelled to take the help of any of my
 colleagues.

Another fact is that I never trust third party services while
 transacting
through internet banking, but here I have to take the help of webvism,
 which
in my opinion, a compromise with the security of bank account.

So, friends please share with me whether any other bank asks to solve
captcha image for transacting via internet banking?
Based on your responses I will prepare a strong case for VI users and
represent it to the Bank CBS Office and Higher authorities in Head
 Office
for removing it from bank's site.

Subject: [AI] breast cancer awarness for disabled women

All
A very useful info. Pl read on. The post did not get to the list.

Harish Kotian

This is a forward from another list. Kanchan
Dear list
There is massive increase in the number of cases of breast cancer and more
of younger women are getting affected. Because of neglect and ignorance
most of the women present symptoms beyond the earlier stage. There is an
equal risk of breast cancer for women with disabilities as it is for
non-disabled women. But the challenges we face for detecting, controlling,
and treating it are often greater than those of non-disabled women.
Unfortunately there are no information pamphlets for women with
disabilities. Knowledge of the symptoms and factors that contribute
towards it growth is important. The chances of getting breast cancer
sometimes increase more in women with disabilities because of certain
obvious conditions like obesity due to lack of mobility, lesser chances of
breast feeding etc.
Women with all kind of disabilities must be taught the Self Examination
techniques. If they are unable to do it their care providers should be
trained in it. . Breast self-examinations (BSEs) are a simple, private,
quick way of taking control over one's own breast health. The care
providers of women with learning and developmental disabilities have to be
given some extra tips.
Keeping in view the need to bring about awareness and dissemination of
information on this subject, I have come out with a handbook or the women
with disabilities. The book by the name of Keeping You Abreast, is
bilingual i.e. it is in English and Hindi. I have also tried to bring it
out in accessible formats i.e. in print form, audio books and e-book. It
is also available at Google Play Store.

Regards
