Clip Converter also probably can convert and download videos
regardless of the video length, and customizability (like choosing
file formats) is its advantage.
Lets pause our YouTube video downloader suggestions for now, and wait
for the asker's experience with our different suggestions...

Re: [AI] Graphics in NVDA and Firefox.

2015-02-07 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
Though not completely sure, Adblock Plus, an adblocker add-on for
Firefox (and other web browsers), should have an option to ignore
graphics. I no longer have it, so cannot confirm. Hopefully you can
try it out yourself or another Adblock Plus user can confirm...
A fix for a similar issue is present in NVDA 2015.1, which should be
released in less than a month, so you should be ready to try that out
as well when it arrives, it may fix your issue.

Visit clipconverter.cc and paste the YouTube video's link in the edit

Hi,
For offline use, Wordweb, available both in free and paid versions, is

additional features, the free version is feature-rich and can be

It can be used online at http://www.wordwebonline.com/

2015-02-07 Thread Pranav Lal
Hi SUDHAKAR and all,

There are huge differences between the k1k and openbook and fineReader. Fine
Reader is a mainstream OCR solution. It does not have the specific blindness
features such as the ability to scan and read simultaneously. Moreover, it
renders images as images unless you draw a box around them and then have them
recognized. The only good solution for blind people these is a specialist OCR
package. You can compare the k1k and Openbook for yourself because both
programs provide demonstration versions.

Hi all,

My experience is similar to Rahul's. The Braille on the EVM was very clear and
the Braille paper very readable. The staff knew what to do.

Re: [AI] youtube downloader

2015-02-07 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
Your question isn't easy to answer.
Sometimes, customizability is mistaken for complications, and
sometimes the other way round. In my case, I like to choose the video
quality and format wit Clip Converter, and leave the other options
untouched, making Clip Converter the downloader of my choice.
I'd suggest you to give Clip Converter (and the other suggestions from
other members as well) a try, and then tell us if you still aren't
satisfied with the already recommended services.

2015-02-07 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
There are several services that allow YouTube videos to be downloaded.
Among those, I like Clip Converter, a free, web-based, feature-rich
and customizable YouTube video downloader.
Visit clipconverter.cc and paste the YouTube video's link in the edit
box, and follow the fairly self-explanatory steps and modify options
according to your needs, and there you go.
Its popularity and usefulness could also be explained by the fact that
Clip Converter has 872,843 Facebook likes.

[AI] Voting experience in Delhi elections

2015-02-07 Thread Rahul Gambhir
Hello Folks,

Sharing experience of exercising my franchise for Delhiā€™s election held today.
I reached polling booth around 5:15 PM, the security personal at the
polling booth venue gate, immediately offered assistance to me. I was
accompanied with my family members so I thanked him for his gesture
and preceded to the designated room number, where I had to exercise my
franchise.
On my request the Braille document with details of all candidates was
handed over to me and after reading the brail ballad paper and
completing the all required formalities I preceded to the EVM machine.
Proper brail marking was well observed around the buttons on the EVM
machine, which enabled me to independently cast my vote.
The location was quite accessible, barrier free, easily approachable
by wheelchair users.

Best Regards
Rahul Gambhir

[AI] Fwd: [NVDA] NVDACon 2015.1: latest updates and date proposal

2015-02-07 Thread Bhavya shah
-- Forwarded message --
From: Joseph Lee
Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2015 19:11:02 -0800
Subject: [NVDA] NVDACon 2015.1: latest updates and date proposal
To: n...@freelists.org

Dear NVDA users around the world:

Just giving you heads up on the upcoming NVDACon 2015.1:

* Location: I'd like to propose that we hold it at NVDA Korea's
TeamTalk server once again unless someone found a better location. In order
to reduce interference, we'll try to host all sessions in a classroom-based
channel (especially for the keynote session).

* Sessions: So far, we have four: keynote from lead developers, NVDA
translations process overview, Google Apps (hosted by Derek Riemer) and a
seminar for StationPlaylist users (hosted by me). Just like the last
conference, we'll have a general users chat as our first session. Please let
us know if you have a session topic for the conference or would like to host
one; the proposal deadline is February 15th. All sessions will be recorded
for archival purposes, with a possibility of sessions being streamed live
around the world (by the way, sighted users and developers are more than
welcome to join the conference).

* Conference dates: Because NVDA developers will be busy until
middle of March and since we had suggestions to host the conference over
multiple days, I propose two Saturdays in March: March 14th and 21st, or
March 21st and 28th. Which option gets the most votes, the dates listed will
be our conference dates unless others have objections (doing it over two
weekends means we can accommodate more sessions and people can attend one or
both days).

Once we get feedback from members of this list (and other NVDA-related
lists) and from other language communities, we'll send out official
invitation a few weeks before the conference (hopefully by March 1st).
Please spread this message around so we can get feedback from many others,
and if you are a translator, please pass this message around in your
language community.

For our Twitter friends: Please use #NVDACon (that is, hash tag NVDACon) and
please help promote this conference.

For past NVDACon events and recordings, you can visit the following site:

http://www.nvda-kr.org/en/nvdacon.php

Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph

Re: [AI] Problem with an rtf file, please help me to resolve it

2015-02-07 Thread Him Prasad Gautam
hi,
As stated in the problem, The colon sign is only the available
indicator of the exact point where the new paragraph must be inserted.
In other words, the new paragraph must be started from the new heading
which contains the colon sign.
Hence to find the exact location of insertion of the new paragraph as
desired, the colon sign is set as the letter to be found.
In case of replacement;
1. definitely the colon sign which is written in the document must be
kept, hence find and replace the same character means cursor goes to
each spot where a new paragraph must be inserted but retains the
original text as it is.
2. the ^p is the code for the replacement action to insert a new
paragraph there.
Since the statement did not clearly explain where he wants insert the
new paragraph before the colon sign or after it; I assumed the it may
be after the colon sign.
If the colon sign stays at the beginning of the new paragraph (which
is unlikely!), the replacement text becomes ^p:
Hope things are clear now.

Re: [AI] Kurzweil 1000 version 14 improves learning experience for users with vision disabilities

2015-02-07 Thread mukesh jain
hello,
each program has it's own features and specialities. so it is dificult
to comment which one is better. it depends on your choice and
requirements. for instance, i always prefer to use fine reader for
most of my scanning and OCR needs, but if i have to do this work when
i am away from the home, I use the openbook along with pearl camera
which also has it's own set of special features like scanning and OCR
capabilities at a fraction of few secands. if i have to scan anything
which has multiple tables, i couldn't have better results with
openbook. so here again fine reader comes in picture for me.
thanks,
