Is this the first time you are installing Jaws in this machine? Or did
you install it erlier also?
My suggestion will be to install FS OCR prior to running .

Re: [AI] about buying a smart phone

2016-12-24 Thread Sanchit Katiyar
I would also suggest you to go with Motorola phones. They run on stock
android and hence run very smooth. According to your budget, you can
purchase Moto GPlay (Fourth Generation, Moto g4 and Moto g4+ (it has
finger print senser). They all are good phones. You can check their
specifications and get one for you according to your need and budget.
They all are available on Amazon.

Re: [AI] About 4G Datacards.

2016-12-24 Thread Ashik

Dear Sir,

You can easily do it.
Go to Settings, more, Tethering and hotspot. In this folder, you will find
the first option: USB. This can be activated after connecting the phone via
data cable. When you activate USB tethering, the computer is connected with
the internet.

I use the same method to access internet.

I think you are talking about Reliance Communications Rccom. They do
have a 4g data card and 4g sim. in many cities, they have already
pulled off the 3g card and mandated that the 4g sim has to be used.
And you will have to use it either on a 4g phone or on a 4g datacard.
Rcom itself is providing a locked 4g card and for existing customers,
there used to be an offer under which you could get the device for
around rs. 1600.
But if possible, I'd suggest you go for Reliance Jio. The locked 4g
device from Jio is priced at 2000 with which you would also get a Jio
sim, and you can download the Jio 4g Voice app, configure it on your
phone and make calls and send SMS for free besides using the internet,
which as we know, is free up to 31 March 2017.

Hello,

After introduction of jio 4g sims, the 3g data cards seems obsolete. I
am

using reliance 3g for years. But it is no longer working. I have to
wait
for long to send an email. Has reliance come up with a 4g data card?

Re: [AI] about buying a smart phone

2016-12-24 Thread rajendra dhurve
Hi Sanjeev... Just go for Moto G Plus 4th Gen without think for any
other Smartphone!!
It is the best with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal Memory, 16MP and 8MP Camera
and the most vital point:
It works with talkback enabled like a butter due to its 3GB RAM which
makes it faster and quick to access the touch screen!!
It is the best phone I have seen.
You may purchase it from Amazon online at Rs15000 or 15K!
Don't see for rs3000 extra, just see its quality and specification
Cheers:

Re: [AI] Way to take action against harassment if any concern faced by blind

2016-12-24 Thread SHANKAR DIGUVAPALLI
there are somany people facing such problems especially persons
working in non teaching field in state and central govt offices. in
rpd bill there is a section which provides relief from harracement so
please reffer this issue to higher authorities and if they can solve
this problem it is good otherwise we should use that provision in the
bill.

[AI] Way to take action against harassment if any concern faced by blind

2016-12-24 Thread Vaibhav Kasar
Hi All,

Today I am come up with very sensitive topic. I am expecting the guidance
and support to deal such situations. ...

One of my friend " Nalini Shirke " based out of Ahmednagar district in
Maharashtra facing very harassed behaviour from her head leady teacher on
job ..

Nalini has been appointed as a teacher under NCERT for primary schooling.
She has 80 % visual disability and she got that opportunity under special
vacancy. She joined school in Jun 2016. After joining she come to noticed
that her head teacher/ Principal not dealing correctly with her. Many of
time she has been harassed by Principal without any factual misters or in
absence of guilty. No of time principal had targeted to Nalini for unknown
reasons. By intentionally she is behaving bad with Nalini. ..lots of time
she said " I will put bad report against you " ...

Does Nalini make any mistake by accepting job in NCERT as a teacher ? ..
because of her hard work and efforts she could get that job ..she is doing
her duties well then also she has to listened from Principal for any
reason ...and Principal purposefully targeting her ..

Can Nalini go with legal actions .Shall RPWD 2016 bill or any law helps
her. ...

Looking forward for your guidance and reviews. ...

Thanks

[AI] Paper of Interest: The Haves and the Have Nots: A Historical Study of Disability in Modern Iran:

2016-12-24 Thread avinash shahi
Abstract
This essay provides a historical analysis of Iranian experiences with
disability. I will begin by reviewing the literary application of the
term in various contexts. Next, I will examine the social milieux in
which local observers, medical professionals, and policy makers talked
about and treated disability. As state-run institutions emerged to
address disability needs, health professionals often drew a
distinction between physical disability and intellectual or
psychological disability, raising ethical and legal questions about
the status of the disabled in modern Iranian society. Finally, an
attempt will be made to situate disability politics in contemporary
Iran, where the disabled population has increased significantly as a
consequence of the Iran–Iraq War (1980–88). Although this paper
concentrates on Iranian experiences with disability, comparisons can
be drawn with other Islamic societies.
Rather, customary terms employed to denote disability ranged in
specificity: khing meaning dumb; lal meaning mute; kar meaning deaf;
kur or na bina meaning blind.

[AI] Paper of Interest: Inclusions and exclusions in law: experiences of women with disability in rural and war-affected areas in Sri Lanka:

2016-12-24 Thread avinash shahi
Abstract
Broad and inter-disciplinary inquiry into disability is at a nascent
stage in Sri Lanka. This paper looks at the intersectionality of
disability and gender in the specific contexts of ‘the rural’ and the
armed conflict-affected areas of the country, particularly the
interaction with the law. In-depth interviews and focus group
discussions were conducted among rural women with disabilities in the
North Central and Eastern provinces, including women who acquired
disabilities resulting from the internal conflict. Legal literacy,
administrative discretion in disability-related welfare programmes,
and transitional justice and reconciliation emerged as the most
prominent themes in the interviews. We analyse these issues using a
rights framework in an attempt to highlight some of the
vulnerabilities of women with disability in the rural and war-affected
contexts. The paper also reflects on a few instances where those
vulnerabilities have been overcome through collective action.

[AI] Paper of Interest: Disability and Popular Common Sense in India: Noun versus Adjective:

Shahid Raza Department of Social Work, Maulana Azad National Urdu
University, Hyderabad, India & Md. Aftab Alam Department of Social
Work, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, India
Pages 151-162 Published online: 24 Jul 2015
Abstract
Reflecting through the Indian experiences, a brief attempt is made to
explore how disability as a noun takes shape in popular common sense
“call names” (adjectives) and how does the popular common sense
legitimise and normalise the oppressive language and the oppressed
reality of the persons with disabilities? In the Indian context, the
contempt for persons with disabilities is writ large in the language
used to address them. However, to be conscious of this contempt, one
needs to be conscious of the hegemonic nature of the popular common
sense which normalises an oppressive reality as a natural social
reality. The discussion on disability and popular common sense in
India through the framework of “noun vs. adjective” might be helpful
in gauging the challenges to the disability rights movement and the
socio-cultural specificities to be reckon with for any meaningful
intervention in the field of disability.

 With best regards,
 Amiyo Biswas
