[AI] Accessibility of statistical software with screen-reader

2017-10-25 Thread Joel Vergis
Dear list members,
As the subject line says, I would like to know whether statistical
softwares such as SPSS, STATA and E-VIEWS are accessible with
screen-readers. These softwares are primarily used in quantitative
research involving big data. I would request those list members who
are experts in accessible softwares working in the IT field to shed
light on this issue.
Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Dear Sana,

Thanks a lot for the guidelines.
Do we have any official notification from CBESE as my center is asking for it.
Best regards,

Dear Nupur Ma'am
Today I personally talk to my NET Center coordinator, she said you have to
bring your own scribe and the scribe should be one class below. As far as
guidelines are concerned it is mentioned that scribe should not be graduate in
the same subject of candidate. If the candidate is unable to arrange his own
scribe then he has to inform the center one week in advance so that they can
make adequate arrangement. We will be provided compensatory time of 25Mins for
paper
1 and paper 2 and 50Mins for paper 3. But my center said that our
responsibility is only to conduct exam and arranging scribe is candidate's
headache. Apart from that they said for further details get in touch with CBSE.

[AI] No prohibition on scribe being from the same stream but lower grade: authorities needed

2017-10-25 Thread Rahul Bajaj
Hi Everyone,

I plan on appearing for the All India Bar Exam this December. This is
an open book exam.
WHile they have allowed me to use a laptop to access the reference
material after much persuasion, they are refusing to let me use a
scribe from the same stream. They say that the MSJE guidelines nowhere
permit a scribe from the same stream. So they have asked me to bring a
scribe from a different stream.

Since this is an open book exam, I will require the scribe's help to
access the reference material in addition to the soft copy material
that I will be carrying. I doubt a non-law person would be able to
make sense of such instructions or even read the questions properly. I
will be giving the exams in Delhi.
Is anyone aware of any Delhi High Court judgments which say that this
is permissible? I know that there are Bom HC judgments on this, but
they will say that that is not binding in Delhi. I have said all along
that the scribe will be 4th year or lower, so at least a grade below
me.
They are adopting a very adversarial position.

Best,
Rahul

Re: [AI] Scribe guidelines for NET exam

2017-10-25 Thread Avichal Bhatnagar
We can take our scribe, and also request the centre to provide if we
are unable to find someone.
For that, the centre needs to be notified at least one week prior to
the exam in writing.
The scribe which we bring should be junior, and not from the same course.

[AI] Scribe guidelines for NET exam

2017-10-25 Thread नूपुर जैन
Hi All,

Can anyone share the scribe guidelines for NET exam.
Do we need to take scribe ourselves for the exam or exam center is expected to
provide the same to us.
If incase we can take the scribe, what is the qualification criteria?
An early guidance on the same will be highly appreciated.

Best regards

Nupur jain
