[AI] The enlightened couple with visions for the future!
Friends, Last evening, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Mita Gupta tied the knot, at a sprawling wedding ceremony at Chandigarh. Both are Post Graduates from Panjab University and employed. The list members will be happy and motivated to learn that both, Shiv and Mita, are Visually Impaired. Despite all the usual hassles and apprehensions of both the families, the couple decided that they are made for each other and there is no point waiting for a sighted match; which is most unlikely to come by. I guess this is the most realistic and practical approach, instead of waiting till eternity. Please bless the newly wedded couple. Re: [AI] IRCTC challenges!
Dear George, I understand that while writing to the government it is important to give specific examples to illustrate the lack of accessibility of the system. However, it must be mentioned that the points mentioned are only examples and the remedy is full compliance to the guidelines with third party testing and certification. We want accessibility for everyone - the totally blind, low vision, cognitive disabilities, mobility impaired - one arm, no fingers and so on. there is no way to test for everyone and get their feedback. Compliance to the international guidelines is the best way forward. Many departments are certifying their websites themselves but they are not at all compliant to the guidelines. thanks, Prashant -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Dhananjay Bhole Sent: 20 June 2018 15:47 To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning the disabled. Great, ask one of them to join us if he or she has not yet done it. And, of course, my best wishes to ehm.
