[AI] Shyamlal Yadav reports in Indian Express today: Amid higher expenditure level of Ministries, funds in welfare schemes remain underutilised
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has several schemes for the welfare of disabled people, but some of them have shown poor expenditure level. For instance, of the total allocation of Rs 41.21 crore for the National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation, the actual expenditure till January 7 was zero. Similarly, the whole allocated amount of Rs 17 crore for the establishment of Centre for Disability Sports was unspent till that date. Re: [AI] Unfortunate fraud issue
Yes, on wifi cards transaction upto the amount of 2,000 is possible at POS device without entering your pin. Banks claim it is for the easy and hassle free transaction, however it is risky too. Wifi card can not be turned into normal card unless you replace your card by non-wifi card from the concerned bank. I watched one video on youtube that described how wifi card can be converted into normal card by delinking the wifi chip of the card by pinning a small hole at the specific place in the card. This process however is difficult for a VI person. Another little tip, in order to avoid any fraudulant transaction on wifi card with out your knowledge at crowded places, use RFID enable wallet which will block all such communication to your card. Re: [AI] Problem in online IRCTC ticket booking for 3 or more than 3 members with using concession.
Hi, You wont be able to book tickets for other family members other than your escort under the same ticket or technically speaking PNR number in case you choose to book under Divyanjan Quota concession . I have personally faced this problem 10 days back. Initially i thought it might be due to some problem in the online booking. Later when i approached the ticket booking counter the officer informed me that for other family members you have to book another ticket or another PNR number. In my case i had a dependent 9 year daughter for which booking a separate ticket was a challenge as the rules say that they need to be accommodated along with any adult passenger. Finally i was made to stand in the general line to book a separate ticket for my 9 year general category daughter.Basically Indian Railways believe that Divyangjans can not have family members. This is their cheap mentality and their only intention is to bring up more and more hurdles so that Divyangjans stop using the concessions. This is a recent development as i was allowed to book tickets for my family members on the same ticket last year in both online and offline mode.
