Thanks sir for clerification. So, If Nuance still holds the ownership to Eloquence, and is charging for the same, there is no question for it to be available free of cost. Even if you mod it and change the name to something else, the voice and other functionalities remain same and would come under the violation of copyright laws. [AI] IE report today: Study in schools for blind in Maharashtra: Causes of visual impairment in children changing
A statewide study conducted in schools for visually impaired has revealed that causes of childhood blindness are changing as society makes socio-economic progress. For example, unavoidable causes (such as blindness due to brain hypoxia) is common in western countries, while Vitamin A deficiency-related blindness is common in African countries.” As many as 2,000 children enrolled in schools for visually impaired across Maharashtra were examined for the study in 2019. It found that whole globe anomaly (ill developed eye at birth) is the major cause of blindness (47 per cent) followed by corneal and retinal causes (15 per cent each) and cataract (7 per cent). Visual impairment in every third child (32 per cent of children) was caused due to something that was preventable or could be treated. Comparison of these findings with a previous similar study conducted by H V Desai Hospital 15 years ago showed that blindness due to Vitamin A deficiency was on the slide. This indicates the success of the government’s Vitamin A supplementation programme for pregnant mothers and children, but implies that the government needs to now tackle blindness due to retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), which is seen in premature babies, sources said. There is a need to train more doctors to manage cataract and ROP in children and also to procure highly specialised equipment to manage these diseases, experts said. At least 15 per cent of the children in the schools for visually impaired in Maharashtra were ‘not blind’ and could be helped with special devices (low vision devices) that could enhance their vision. Experts said there is a need to increase awareness among society and teachers that all visually impaired children are not necessarily blind. Proper and timely examination by experts can help identify children who can see better with low vision devices. Hi in order to have a ease dharshan and accommodation it's better to opt for online booking... But you need to book earlier as the portal opens three months in advance. I visited Tirupathi and tirumala last month ie, 16, 17 of January for which I booked in the month of October. If booked online it wuld hardly take 5 to 10 minutes at the counter to get the accommodation both at Tirupathi as well as at Tirumala... But online special dharshan is advisable if ready to spend 300/- per head and you can have dharshan within an hour if it is non season but need totolerate the crowd after reaching the main temple tower enterance where all dharshan lines meet and mingle together... W.r.t places to visit: There are many places to visit both at Tirumala as well as in Tirupathi. At Tirupathi AP govt. buses are available as tour packages of two type starting both from the Bus stand as well as Railway station... You can get all details from the TTD website itself before hand... If good in bargaining then you can go with private cab/ taxi who are available at bus stands and at the accommodation entrances. I was to spend Rs: 2300/- for a local temple package covering 6 temples with Sumo 9 seater cab... You can calculate yours... Hi, I always thought that was a bit shady of them (Saksham) to do that, But to be perfectly honest with you, they could be either charging for the other 2 scansoft? nuance voices, or the eloquence they addon they bundled in worked on some other licensing deal. I haven't used that particular version myself, so can't speak with clarity. If they were using the same version of the eloquence addon and were charging for it, it was definitely not right of them to do so, but Saksham will need to be the one to speak up on it as all I will end up doing here would be speculation. I know what I know, as the addon was developed in a community I was a part of.
