[AI] Microsoft RDP Web Client

2020-09-28 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Hi Friends,

Is anyone using Microsoft RDP to connect to the remote work machine? In the
newer versions they are discontinuing the Desktop Client and enforcing the
Web Client. I am having a hard time using it with NVDA.

I found on the RDP's versioning website that it has screen reader support
but did not find any document for the same. If anyone has the know-how on
how to use it efficiently please let me know.

PS - On one page I found that Alt + Pg Up/Down can be used in the web
client to emulate Alt + Tab and some similar shortcuts but they are not
working for me.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

Hi George,

Yes, the iMobile app is poor with Talkback as well. As soon as I navigate
to the passbook section with the screen reader it becomes unresponsive and
crashes after a minute. Fund Transfer is not much accessible either.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

[AI] ICICI Bank mobile app

2020-09-28 Thread George Abraham
Hi,

I have had problems with the ICICI bank mobile app since November 2019. I
have been taking the issue up with them. Initially they had said that the
problem would be resolved when they made their next upgrade. Now the next
upgrade has happened but no change as far as access is concerned.

Want to know if there are anyone else in the group who bank with ICICI. If
yes, what has been the experience with the mobile app on the iPhone.

You could connect with me offline on george.abrah...@gmail.com or call me on
9810934040.

Thanks,

George

Re: [AI] steps of downloading a image file from the internet

2020-09-28 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Hi,

Try following steps:

1. Activate the link with the enter key. You are using FB so it will open
in a photo viewer within.

2. Now instead of *xyz graphic link* the nvda will probably announce it as
*link xyz graphic* or * xyz graphic*. Now on activating the context menu
you should get the option.

3. Press Esc to collapse the photo viewer.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

Also there is an add-on available with Firefox which saves all the page
images. I am not sure how it works and probably not what you are looking
for.

Please share the experience if someone has used the add-on.

Re: [AI] steps of downloading a image file from the internet

2020-09-28 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Hi,

There seems to be a little problem while one deals with the context menu in
Firefox. Right clicking with a mouse and emulating it with the keyboard
produce different context menus with an image there.

Better switch to Chrome for your task.

1. Locate the image you want to download.

2. Activate the context menu with Shift + F10 (please tell me if there is a
better way on the Laptop keyboard layout).

3. Press down key until you reach the *Save image as* option. Now press the
enter key.

4. A file explorer pop up will come up, now you can save the image just
like any other file you save.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

For some images you might not get the option as either the download option
will be disabled by the website developer or it might not be a downloadable
image.

Thanks,

able to find only two options ,namely firefox HTML document(*.HTML)

[AI] Pyar Bhari Gupshup —BGFI's engagement with old age homes

2020-09-28 Thread Blind Graduates' Forum of India
Dear All,

At Blind Graduates Forum of India (BGFI), we not only believe in empowering
persons with disabilities, but we strongly remain committed to give
something back to the society at large which has empowered us.

Similar to our readers day wherein we acknowledge the contributions of
readers and writers in the life of blind people, we remain deeply grateful
to our elderly people from whom we learnt our culture and values.

As this pandemic has hit hard to everyone, which has resulted in social
distancing and lesser interactions, we have decided to join hands with a
few homes which provide care to elderly, through a series of virtual
interactions starting from Sunday 4th October. These sessions will be
conducted every weekend for 4 weeks in the month of October, thereby
spreading love and smiles amongst those who held our hands earlier in our
lives. This way, we are celebrating Daan Utsav.

About Daan Utsav

#DaanUtsav (earlier called the Joy of Giving Week) is India’s ‘festival of
giving’. Launched in 2009, the festival is celebrated every year –
commencing on Gandhi Jayanti – from October 2 to 8.

>From auto rickshaw drivers to CEOs, school children to celebrities,
homemakers to opinion leaders and media personnel, millions of people from
all walks of life come together during this week to give their time, money,
resources, or skills back to society. They do this by creating or
participating in events of their choice.

A giving event could be as simple as a family taking out their maid’s
children for an ice cream party, or as large as a ‘Gift Compassion’. The
latter is an event that has over 10,000 schoolchildren across India making
and exchanging gifts with their peers from different socio-economic
backgrounds every year.

You too can engage those around you to make a difference to many lives in
need. In your own way, lets spread a little love and joy.
