Re: [AI] A question regarding independent traveling of the blind

2020-11-02 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
Indigo has been the best for me so far, and SpiceJet and Vistara
couldn't impress me in terms of their service and politeness of staff.
So far as the five star hotels are concern, almost all hotels welcome
VI person and they have good trained staff, I very good experience in
Taj, Hyatte, Radisson Blue, and LemonTree Premier, Ramada and J
Marriott. The Best I found Hyatt service, let them know their
requirements and there will be someone to assist you at the entrance
of the hotel

Hi

Taj is best when it comes to service for VI travelling alone

Vistara is the best when talking about assistance

I have travelled extensively and tried multiple airlines

Please let me know if there is anything more that I can help on

2020-11-02 Thread Avichal Bhatnagar
Hello list members,
As the subject line indicates, I want to know some things regarding
the solo traveling of a vi:
1. Which airlines in India provide best escort services to the blind,
and how can it be availed?
2. Do 5 star hotels in general provide rooms to a vi person if he/she
is all alone?
Thanking you

Dear All,
I would like to know if someone drops maths in 10th and 12th then what are
the higher education options one has? I understand one can do BA /BCom/BSc
in Biology or Physics or Chemistry, but does one has any option in Computer
Science or is there any other option available? Feedback based on your
experiences will help us to take correct decision.

[AI] Daily Eyeway Alerts

2020-11-02 Thread Ritu Jain
Dear All,
Please find the below Daily Eyeway Alerts:
1. News-
iPhones can now alert visually impaired how far away others are.
The latest beta version of iOS packs a feature that can help visually
impaired users to effectively maintain social distancing by indicating
how far away other people are from them.
Apart from detecting the presence of people, it also measures the
distance to people in the view of the iPhone's camera, TechCrunch
reported on Saturday.
The feature should be available to iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max running
the iOS 14.2 release candidate, said the report.
This useful feature emanates from Apple's augmented reality (AR)
platform for iOS devices, ARKit. ARKit 4 introduced a brand-new depth
application programming interface, creating a new way to access the
detailed depth information gathered by the LiDAR scanner on iPhone 12
Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPad Pro.
The LiDAR Scanner measures the distance to surrounding objects.
For ARKit, Apple developed a feature called "people occlusion" which
detects shape of people.
The team found that when combined with the accurate distance
measurements provided by the LiDAR units on the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro
Max, this tool could of immense help for visually impaired users, said
the report.
