2022-04-07 Thread Minar Singh
I forgot to mention that All Asus laptop inbuilt speaker sound is not
good. one has to use either good quality of headphone or external
speaker. You can think of buying HP laptop also. currently i'm using
HP for office work and Dell for personal work and i'm happy with both.

Re: [AI] Want to know the feedback on Dell and Asus Laptops

2022-04-07 Thread Aparna Sachdev
Hi Mohib,
I have no experience to speak of with Dell, but my last two laptops
have been Asus Zenbooks, and I personally have been very happy with
them. Battery life has been great (6-8 hours after 3 years of use
isn't bad, in my book), typing is a decently good experience (the
keyboard isn't particularly noisy or click-y), and I haven't had any
trouble with it besides. I like the Zenbook line because they tend to
be really portable and convenient to carry around.

There's something you might like to keep in mind though if you're
looking at Asus - their smaller laptops tend to compromise on the
standalone home, end, page-up and page-down keys, so the function keys
double as these navigation keys, which I personally find very
off-putting. It might be difficult to find 13 inch models which don't
do that, but the UX325JA is one that I know of, although that isn't
12th gen. Finding 14 inch models with your preferred keyboard layout
might be easier. I have a 14 inch, and I find it small enough to suit
my preferences, but not too small for the keyboard to be cramped. Hope
this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
Regards,
Aparna

Re: [AI] Want to know the feedback on Dell and Asus Laptops

2022-04-07 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
I have decided to go for Lenovo Thinkbook S13 Gen2, as its providing
me 3 years premium onsight service + 3 years accedental damage
protection along with I7 11th gen processor, 16GB ram and 512 SSD.
While same configuration with Dell is way expensive than ThinkBook.
Furthermore, in Dell XPS13, there is no USB type A port, and its for
137K, while ThinkBook is costing me 109,000 INR with same
configuration.

Re: [AI] Want to know the feedback on Dell and Asus Laptops

2022-04-07 Thread Gaurav
Hello All,
Dell is very good. I use it's Inspiron 3501. But as Ajay mentioned, it's
WaveMax pro causes memory issues. not just that, WMP also makes your sound
to become undesirable; the bass, treble, and equalisers are not accessible
in the WaveMaxPro application, last I checked. So my advice for you would
be to go for it, and remove WaveMaxPro and switch to Microsoft's high
definition drivers.

Re: [AI] Want to know the feedback on Dell and Asus Laptops

2022-04-07 Thread Ajay Minocha
Hello,

Couple of pointers:
1. Dell is ideally the best but lately its WavesMax pro audio service
is causing a rapid increase in vertual memory use thereby making the
machine extremely slow after a prolonged use. Freedomscientific does
recognize this issue however there doesn't seem to be a permanent fix
as of now other than disabling the service which at times doesn't
work. Issue is more prevalent in windows11.
2. In my view, your decision shouldn't be based on a laptop having
application key or not, you can easily remap one of the alt/ control
keys to application key using Sharpkeys which is a free software.

HTH,
Ajay

Hi,

There is an alternative for application key.

You can use Shift plus F10 to open context menu.

Hello Vaibhav,
I have used Asus laptop for more than 08 years and still lying one
Asus laptop vacant. It's battery strength is not good. I feel Asus
laptop becomes slowerafter 1 or 1.5 years. one can use external
keyboard for getting access to application key. I feel Asus is west
of money. very difficult to find laptop battery in market.

I think you should write this to AICB. They have a strong advocacy
cell. some time back teacher's posts were denied to Visually Impaired
candidates organisation approached Alahabad high court and resolved
that issue.
