[AI] Telegram query

2023-06-30 Thread Aman Preet Singh
Hi all! I have a query regarding downloading files from telegram channels with
VoiceOver. To download files, usually I do the following, first I do select
that file, then click on share button, and then I click on the button save to
files, it saves that file to my iPhone folder. But, some channels don’t permit
to share their files, there for I am not able to download any file from those
channels. Is there any method with the VoiceOver, that we can download/save
files from Such kind of channels? In android, we can open the talkback menu and
can click on save to download in action menu. is there any option like this in
VoiceOver? Any guidance related to this will be very helpful for me. Thanks.

Sent from my iPhone

[AI] Re: Invitation to Apply for I-Stem Fellowship 2023 for Students and young professionals with Disabilities

2023-06-30 Thread Shakul Sonker
Hi Everyone,

We wanted to reach out and share some exciting news regarding the
I-Stem Fellowship Program. Due to the overwhelming response and the
desire to ensure that more candidates have access to this incredible
opportunity, we have decided to extend the application deadline to
July 15th, 2023.

We understand that the summer vacation period can be a busy time for
many students, and it's possible that some may have missed the initial
information about the fellowship while being away on holidays. We
don't want anyone to miss out on this chance to be part of this
transformative upskilling journey. By extending the application
deadline, we aim to accommodate those who may have been unable to
apply within the previous time frame.

We kindly request your assistance in spreading the word about this
application deadline extension. Together, we can ensure that more
deserving candidates have the opportunity to participate and benefit
from the program. Here is the link to know more and apply for the
fellowship again https://www.inclusivestem.org/fellowship.html

Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Please let us
know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,
-Shakul

Dear Friends,
I also include my voice in congratulating all concerned on this success.
While it is heart-warming to hear this news I also acknowledge the hard
struggles it takes those involved to reach the winning post, and wish that
things could be more simple for good things to be given a way forward.
It is sad indeed that such human rights must be fought so hard to be achieved
in our world.

God bless.

Subject: [AI] An advocacy breakthrough for the study and practice of
physiotherapy for persons with blindness and low vision

Dear All,

At the XRCVC we are very happy to share with you that we have taken another
great leap forward in our advocacy work on inclusive education. This was
through supporting a student with low vision to win a very favourable order in
the Bombay High Court. This was to overcome the denial of admission in
mainstream physiotherapy education and practice.

In October 2022, we were approached by a student with low vision, Zill Jain,
who wanted to pursue mainstream Bachelor's in Physiotherapy education but was
being denied admission on the grounds of her visual impairment. This was due to
changes in rules for persons with disabilities because of restructuring of the
regulatory framework of medical and allied health sciences. In 2011 because of
our advocacy work for Kritika Purohit, access to mainstream physiotherapy
education had already been created for persons with blindness and low vision.
Moreover, after Kritika's case many students with blindness and low vision have
pursued Bachelors in Physiotherapy and are successful practioners in their own
right.

We at the XRCVC committed our support to Zill to help her challenge this
discriminatory stance of the authorities and worked very closely with her as a
support service in this matter that was heard in the Bombay High Court. We
worked very actively in drafting the petition, conducting national and global
research on the best practices in the field of physiotherapy education and
practice for the blind and the low vision, and gathering evidence for providing
answers to the Court's queries. We also published 2 policy papers based on our
research to provide inputs on the case. .

We thank and congratulate Kanchan Pamnani who took up the case with her
traditional enthusiasm and Zeel. Her arguments and presence in the court made a
difference.

The research that was presented in this case was highly commended by the
Honourable Bench, when they gave a detailed and sensitive ruling in the
students favour recognizing and upholding the rights of blind and low vision
persons to pursue physiotherapy education and practice. Most importantly, in
their judgment (dictated for over an hour), the Honourable Bench spoke of
creation of avenues for inclusion of persons with disabilities in mainstream
education. This is a major success in the advocacy work especially in the
inclusive education arena.

We are also grateful to Rahul Bajaj and Tanishk Goyal from Mission
Accessibility for their thorough inputs which were shared with the court during
the final hearing.

The Media carried the story yesterday. We provide two links to the Times of
India coverage on page 1 and page 4.

Hi Everyone

I hope this mail finds you in the best spirit.

As the Subject line reads, I am facing an issue with HDFC bank Application
on Android . After the recent app update (version 11.2.0) it has completely
become inaccessible. I have written to the Tech team of HDFC Bank and have
also spoken to their team. However, I want to know if anyone on this
mailing list is using the latest version of HDFC Bank App on Android facing
inaccessibility.

Thank you
