Re: [AI] DoB mismatch error on Railway ID card while online booking

2024-03-04 Thread ravipaul . chanti

Hello all,
Thank you for the responses. It looks like there were a chain of errors which
culminated in this result. I had received an Aadhaar with a wrong date of birth
(which has since been corrected), but still took a printout of the same one
with error and submitted while having my UDID card made. (Note to self: Some
double checking can go a long way). Anyway, as you can imagine, having provided
a copy of the UDID card and the other documents, this error has crept in. So
using the erroneous date of birth does indeed work. In other words, there was
indeed a mismatch of the birth entered and the ones one their records.
I can use this ID card for now. But Could someone indicate how one could get
ones UDID to the right date of birth? Does one need to apply online a fresh and surrender this one ( in which ever order)??

Sorry for the lengthy response.
Regards,
Ravi

surely it will work.
If not, get me back.

Hi Aman,
American and British accents are different and also the English vocabulary

Hello Shek sir and Srenivasu sir,

Thank you so much for replying promptly to my query.
I'm expected to take up the new role so I'm yet to start. Person who is
supposed to provide me the required training is also Visually Impaired
sitting in London and she is demotivating me. There is a lot of resistance
from her side as she doesn't want me to do the task.
Can you send me your mobile number please? I wish to know that from where
should i start learning Jira application? What is the right strategy to use
jira. Will it work with NVDA also or will it work with JAWS + Google chrome?
it would be better if you both could share your mobile number on my
personal email ID singhmi...@gmail.com

Re: [AI] learn English to read foreign books

2024-03-04 Thread Sandeep Singh
The dictionary suggested by Amiyo is the best available. About
newspapers you could go for The Times, The Guardian, The New York
Times, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph. Don't have to subscribe,
just search online and read a few interesting articles daily.
All the best

Re: [AI] Jira Accessibility query

2024-03-04 Thread Shek Mohammad Ali
Hi what is your level of access?
If you are assigned tickets you can navigate through headings and indeed
comment edit box is quite accessible.
What are the challenges you are facing?

Jira is pretty accessible. What sort of problems do you encounter? It's best to
reach out to their Accessibility team. They are pretty responsive.

Re: [AI] learn English to read foreign books

2024-03-04 Thread Amiyo Biswas
I think, you are already writing good English. You need some command over
vocabulary to read literature. So, install WordWeb on your pc. It's a free and
accessible dictionary.

I don't know the books you have. I recommend starting with books by Jane Austen
and Oscar Wilde. You may consider reading thrillers. Since these books are
absorbing, the thrill and curiosity will lead you to the end.

Re: [AI] learn English to read foreign books

2024-03-04 Thread Sandeep Singh
Hi, to begin with, I'd recommend two things:
1. try to improve your vocabulary. So, don't just keep reading, look
for the meaning/ correct usage of each word you are not familiar with.
Online dictionaries and even google will be helpful
2. Read top foreignnewspapers. This will give you a good idea about
the flow and writing style. You can even choose literary articles from
these newspapers/ magazines

[AI] Request for participants consuming content in Hindi for research study

2024-03-04 Thread Mission Accessibility
Hi all, on behalf of Mission Accessibility and Whose Knowledge, we are
organizing a conversation on 16th March in Delhi as part of a project on
advancing language justice for persons with visual disabilities in South Asia.
This project is being co-designed by “Whose Knowledge?” and a set of six
independent researchers from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

We are looking for women with visual disabilities who access hindi language
content (primarily, and not English) and use digital technologies. Together, we
hope to discuss and articulate issues and learnings for understanding how to
create better and more accessible digital technologies and multilingual online
spaces.
We are bearing the cost of attendance and providing an honorarium as well. If
anyone here knows of a woman/women with visual impairment who consume Hindi
content online and otherwise, please let me know! It will be very helpful.

We can also accommodate out of Delhi participants and have the space to fund
travel and stay for assistants.

Write the age of your escort exactly as yours. It will work. Regarding
the computation of numbers of years, it will automatically count

 Hey all,

Pretty much as the subject says, the portal gives an error stating
that there is a mismatch between the date of birth - although it
does not specify whose while I am trying to book ticket on the
website. Just to get it out of the way, the dates of birth (both
of mine and the escorts) are correct, and I have also tried
various combinations just in case. But unfortunately with little
 success.

 Any help?

 Thank you in advance,

 Ravi
