[AI] Survey on Digital Consent and Data Sharing for Persons with Disabilites by Pacta & Saksham

2024-05-22 Thread Arihant Jain
Pacta & Saksham request your help in either distributing a survey or
providing us with the names of potential participants for the survey that
will inform a study to understand digital consent and data privacy for
persons with disabilities. Details of the study are below.

*In August 2023, the Parliament of India passed The Digital Personal Data
Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 a legislation for the protection of digital
personal data. As per the DPDP Act, consent for the collection of data on
persons with disabilities shall be taken from their lawful guardian, where
appointed (similar to the requirement of substituted consent from parents
in respect of children). This implies that a person with a disability may
not be able to give autonomous consent for digital data sharing. Following
the DPDP Act, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is set
to release the DPDP Rules in June 2024. As a run-up to this, we’d like to
compile and put forth challenges and recommendations from stakeholders to
inform the rule-making process.*

Through the survey, we want to understand the internet usage of people with
disabilities, attitudes towards data sharing and privacy, and the role of
the legal guardian (where present) in accessing the internet.

The survey form is in English and hosted on Google Forms. I am sharing a
message below that can be passed on to persons with disabilities.

Are you between 18-50 years of age and are a user of the internet? We want
to hear from you!

Pacta and Saksham Disability are conducting a study on digital consent and
data privacy for persons with disabilities. The survey will ask you
questions about your internet usage and how you navigate the terms and
conditions and privacy policy on websites.

All we need is 5 minutes of your time to fill out a survey! The information
you share will be kept confidential and used only for research purposes.

The link to the survey is below.

https://forms.gle/2RZqbxVkJTaScTsj9

If you know others who are within the mentioned age group and are willing
to take part, please pass on the survey to them!

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to:

Krithika at krith...@pacta.in or Geetanjali at geetanj...@pacta.in
For those who would like to take the survey over a call, we are happy to
arrange for a call back. I am sending a short form to fill out with
participant details for the phone survey.
https://forms.gle/xXQXkXPpbXsvCort8

Please reach out in case of any questions or concerns.

Thank you!

Warm regards,
Krithika

   interpersonal abilities.
   - The salary for this position is negotiable and will be determined
based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Thank you for considering this opportunity, and we look forward to
reviewing your application.
