This document gives you brief description about how to modify gmail settings,

First go to google.com then click on Sign in. then Sign in with your gmail id

It will open page where direct links are given to change the account
information such as your personal information, Time zone, password, security
question.
About Settings
On that page Settings link is present, click on that. It will open your gmail
standard view. Don’t switch on basic html, other wise it will not work.
Settings is present downside of the page. In Settings all the things are
accessible because it is made up of radio button edit fields combo box, and
button. Don’t forget to click on save button after making necessary change.
But yes one things is not accessible directly thru jaws it might be graphic or

Automatic summary generator for charts and tables

Chart Explainer is a software environment for automatically generating
natural-language summaries of charts and tables, developed by CoGenTex under a
Phase
I SBIR award sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Chart Explainer is designed to enhance the accessibility of data-intensive
presentations, by making it easier to understand the most salient facts about
the data. Chart Explainer can help organizations to meet Section 508
requirements by making charts and tables more accessible to visually impaired
users,
but textual summaries can also be useful to anyone who wants an easier way to
understand complex datasets.

Chart Explainer uses CoGenTex’s proprietary natural language generation
technology to create fluent, readable summaries, regardless of the subject
domain
of the data. Chart Explainer’s graphical configuration interface makes it easy
to import data from a variety of sources, and configure summaries interactively.
Simple point-and-click operations let you specify the correct terminology for
describing your data, and select from a variety of summarization options
for multi-dimensional datasets.

Once summarization options have been configured for a dataset, Chart Explainer
can generate summaries on demand, to reflect changing data. Chart Explainer
will be integrated with the most popular third-party tools, such as data
analysis software, charting packages, and application servers, for ease of
deployment.

For more information about Chart Explainer, check out

[AI] Photography: A New Angle on Seeing

2006-08-28 Thread sanjeev chaodhari
Photography: A New Angle on Seeing

By Lin Fong

In a charming seaside town just north of Tel Aviv in Israel, a group of amateur
photographers meet religiously once a week to compare their latest creations.

Their visual snapshots capture everything from the exquisite to the banal with
elegance and simplicity -

quite astonishing given that the photographers are blind.

The paradoxical nature (some would even say sheer absurdity) of blind
photography has not been lost on the project's creators Iris Shinar and Kfir
Sivan.
When they approached the country's Association for the Blind with their idea to
start working with a small group, there were met with a welcoming but somewhat
baffled response.

"The most important thing was to establish trust between us and the social
workers because when you first hear about blind people taking pictures, it
sounds
like a gimmick, like a joke,'' Iris said.

"The blind people themselves were not skeptical at all. They appreciated very
much that we trusted them to do it. They are not afraid of challenges.''

Iris and Kfir, both photographers with a strong social conscience, literally
stumbled upon the idea on the Internet as they explored ways to contribute
creatively to the community.

What they found was a fascinating account of blind photography in different
parts of the world, including Japan where an exhibition of blind photography
is sponsored by the emperor every year.

Intrigued, they decided to trial a program in Israel. In collaboration with The
Association for the Blind, they began working with a small group of seven
students. Some were blind from birth while others had developed the condition
during their life.

Iris and Kfir began by teaching the students the basic history of art and
photography before moving on to the mechanics of using a camera, including
specially
tailored techniques where they could use their hands to help measure the width
of the lens.

The students were then equipped with instamatic cameras and films and assigned
weekly tasks. The project started at the beginning of 2006 and has since
expanded to 12 students, ranging from the ages of 20 up to 70.

Iris and Kfir had no idea what to expect from the photos initially, but the
results were breathtaking. They quickly discovered that the students had
particularly
heightened senses and a natural intuitive ability to grasp spatial perspective.
They also had a keen feeling for sound, light and heat.

For example, one student took a series of beautifully composed shots of a lush
canopy of trees. When asked how he had framed the shots so precisely, he
replied that he had heard the wind rustle the leaves in a certain way and felt
the sun's rays.

"Photography gives the blind a kind of common language that connects them to
people who see,'" Kfir said.

"It helps them create a dialogue with the rest of the world and makes them feel
equal. Also it's a recognition of something that they've done that gives
them pride.'"

They said the subjects the students chose to photograph were interesting,
offering windows into their private lives and inner yearnings. They captured
everything
from friends and family, their homes and hobbies to environments they liked to
visit.

Basically the photographs acted as a statement to the world that the students,
though blind, were no different from others.

Iris and Kfir said the weekly photography classes were charged with high energy
and constant surprises. Each session was being recorded on video to be presented
at an exhibition of the students' photos, which they hoped to hold at the end
of the year.

They said there were many misconceptions about blindness as a disability.
People believed that the condition was disempowering and debilitating, but Iris
and Kfir's experience with the group has taught them that the students fully
participate in and embrace life.

They are so active. They do things I cannot believe," Kfir said.

Kfir said one of the students was expert in the delicate art of embroidery,
while another cooked dinner for 20 people every week. The latter had chosen
to photograph a series based on the theme of cooking couscous as an expression
of pride in her culinary talents.

Another student had been recognized for her numerous volunteering activities
and had even been her own photographer at the awards ceremony.

Iris said volunteering on the project had been a tremendous gift for her and
Kfir.

"We feel that we gain more than we give. It has changed our perspective on
disability," Iris said.

"You think about disability as the worst thing that can happen to you. We
believe blind people have their problems, but they are alive, they don't give
up. All of them laugh - they have a great sense of humour."

And does it concern the students that they can't see their own photos?

"It's enough for them when we tell them what's in the pictures because they
use their imagination," Iris replied.

"That's why they don't want to phot

Re: [AI] problem with yahoo mail

2006-12-20 Thread sanjeev chaodhari

dear sudhakar
hi

I am not shore weather any person from customer care will call you or not.
It is one of the steps while registering with yahoo. However, you can take
help of sighted person to solve this problem. You have to type the character
shown in picture in text box. Bye the way picture is inaccessible. Therefore,
you will have to take assistance of some some sighted person. As far as my
knowledge goes yahoo does not provide audio solution to this. In addition, this
is not a tall useless cause it prevents automatic spam mails. As software,
which sends spam, mails can fill to/CC/BCC fields; subject fields and your
message body and send it.
However, it cannot fill the text shown in picture, because it is random image
file, making text shown in picture unpredictable.

Re: [AI] editing headers and footers

2006-12-27 Thread sanjeev chaodhari

Dear fayaz
Hi
You can go to header/footer by going to view menu alt+v and then header/footer,
h.
Pres insert+f to hire format bar. If it says header style that means you are in
header, if it says footer style that means you are in footer. Use the up
arrow/down arrow to switch between header and footer. You can perform editing
there just as anywhere else.
You can press alt+c to come out of header/footer, or alternatively go to view
menu alt+v then header/footer h.

I have tried to find out windows structure by home row utility but there is
only single window.
Then I went on to check weather it is MSA object or not. And it is MSA object.
Now I don’t have any idea as to how to write script for MSA object. I need
guidance of knowledgeable person.
If anybody have any kind of tutorial please send me.

[AI] Making the Railways friendly for the disabled

Making the Railways friendly for the disabled –Part II
April 10, 2012 10:39 AM |
Sudhir Badami

If public transport system is not catering to the needs of disabled,
their livelihood is being denied. It is of utmost importance that the
Disability Act 1995 is implemented in letter and spirit. This is
concluding part of the two part series

Having looked at guidelines for making built environment barrier free
and the idea of relocating the compartment meant for PwD in the first
part, in the second and concluding part, we will see the issue of
large level differences between the coach floor levels and Platform
levels and how it can be tackled.

This brings us to the question of why the level differences are
inordinately high and why they cannot be minimized.

According to Indian Railways Schedule of Dimensions Revised 2004
(IR-SOD2004), for the wide stock passenger trains (Mumbai Suburban)
the level of the 3660 mm wide coach can be at 1345 mm in unloaded
condition above the top of rail (ToR) and 1200 mm when fully loaded.
This is valid for trains on steel springs belonging to older design.
The present set of Siemens design is on pneumatic suspension which
maintains the level at 1200 mm from ToR even with varying load.

The platform level to be constructed in accordance with IR-SOD2004 can
be within the range of 760 mm to 840 mm from ToR. This means that the
level difference between the coach floor and the station platform can
be in the range of 360 mm to 585 mm (14” to 24”). With coach floor
projecting 1830 mm (actually ~1780 mm) from the centerline of rails
and the edge of the platform coping at 1670 mm at the least, the
platform will be under the flooring with a maximum overlap of 110 mm.

The reality on ground is only partially true of things being in
accordance with the IR-SOD2004. Sometimes the horizontal overlap is
not only missing but small gap prevails. While the maximum vertical
floor level differences exist touching the worked out 585 mm, the
minimum difference is only as little as 100 mm as seen at Chunabhatti
or Thane, not as high as 350 mm worked out with IR-SOD2004. This means
that there is scope to seriously revisit the IR-SOD2004 in this
regard.

While it is noticed that the rail at stations do dip or rise
uniformly, visible to the eye clearly, as at Reay Road, and the
station platforms too should generally be at similar uniform gradient.
It is observed that the station platform level itself is not uniformly
horizontal along the edge lengthwise or rising or dipping to match the
rise or dip of tracks adjoining. Thus the level difference between the
coach floor and the station platform varies even along the same
platform edge for the same train. This is very clear at Chunabhatti
and Andheri stations.

There are several stations located on the tracks which are on the
curve. It is assumed that the curve radius is within the norms
prescribed in the IR-SOD2004. The problem arising out of the curvature
needs to be dealt with independently insofar as the horizontal and
vertical gaps are concerned. However, with majority of stations being
with straight tracks, raising platform levels to the level 1200 mm
above ToR will ensure that in fully loaded condition, there will be no
level difference and in fully empty condition, commuters will have to
climb just 145 mm (< 6”). In fact for the new age coaches, platform
height at 1200 mm from ToR will more or less match the coach height.
Even the horizontal gap can be kept to mere 40 mm to account for
construction inaccuracies of Civil Works and coach manufacture.

The edge has variety of non-skid surface, even on the same platform.
Many of these become slippery with film of water, which abound during
monsoon. Considerable water spills on to this edge from the
decelerating or accelerating train during rain. This problem can be
tackled separately but prima facie it pertains to collecting and
disposing the rain water flowing into the rail coach roof gutter
without letting it fall on the platform. At some places, erroneously
slippery tiles have been placed such as at Mumbai Central suburban
section. These need to be replaced.

The reason for high level difference could be attributed to railways
following their “Schedule of Dimensions” which has been in use since
1913, updated periodically; platforms being constructed to designs
meant for non-suburban train coaches. These coaches are 3250 mm wide
(~3150 at floor level) while the suburban rail coaches are wide stock
of 3660 mm (~3560 at floor level) width on the same standard rail
coach chassis on broad gauge bogie. Horizontal gap for the
non-suburban trains come out to be as much as 95 mm. The first
footboard level generally matches the platform level. In suburban
train system, the concept of footboard does not exist; the floor o
