Well I had a bad experience with AVG.
People may have different opinion about this antivirus!
I found Avira antivirus performing better in my system. If
an user is using genuine Operating System, I would also
recommend ForeFront, a good antivirus by Microsoft.

Re: [AI] Internet Banking Query

2010-03-12 Thread vijay chavan
Hi Prashant and All,
I have been using Bank of India's Net Banking service for the last almost 1 and
half years. As just fifteen days ago, Bank of india has introduced a new
software called StarToken. This software will work as like as we use
OutLookExpress or LotusNotes.
One has to install it on a machine which he or she uses regularly.
As The Bank of India is claiming that they have introduced a next Generation of
the NetBanking.
But the WebPage which they have designed on the StarServer, is completely
inaccessible with the ScreenReaders.
I am using Jaws to access the NetBanking from the Bank of India, I always have
to use the Jaws Cursor to activate the Links, Buttons, and CheckBoxes on the
Page.
I think, they have not provided proper KeyBoard support to the WebPage.
No TextBox or CheckBox is Accessible with the Jaws.
I have already spoke to the I T manager of the Bank of India Mr. Dileep Gaikwad
on the Phone 022-67447002. But, He took my contact No. and assured that he
will asked to look into the matter Mr. Sameer a Cheif Security Officer.
I haven't yet found any positive development in the Website.
The Software which they introduced is seams to be quite Safe and secure but
incomplete one. Because, when we use StarToken, we cannot access the windows
easily. If page doesn't load, and we try to bring the focus to that window we
cannot revert back to that secure Desktop which the StarToken creates for
Secure Banking.
Another thing is that they are making it Compulsory each and everybody to use
the StarToken.
May I request to all Accessibility Experts to do something in this regard?
Regards,
Vijay Chavan. Mobile: 9867967767.

In this case, why don't you file RTI
asking that under which rule they are not clearing your
cheques and not giving you the facilities? I think there
will be no answer for this question. Because as per my
openian, no such rule exists that prevents the bank from
giving this facilities to a visually impaired person.

 Hi Friends,
I have my accounts both with DenaBank and Bank of India. I am using NetBanking
from both the banks, however, dena bank doesn't have the facility of fund
transfer in to any other bank. As far as bank of India's net banking is
concerned, it is very accessible and one can perform the transaction
endipendantly. Please remember that the PassWord protection is totally our
responsibility.
As far as ATM is concerned, I am having ATM from Bank of India. It is very
simple and fast to use. One of my friend have an ATM from SBI s ATM machines
are totally ScreenTouch and are not accessible for us. Is it not possible for
us to approach to SBI and make them to install their ATM machines all user
friendly? As I have heard that SBI is prefering to totally ScreenTouch ATMS
only.
Please throw more light on this question.
Regards,
Vijay Chavan.

I do not think the blackboard is very important. while
writing calculations, it may be important. but when studying
the subjects like the social sciences it is hardly of any
use. of course it has become an alternative to those
teachers who just dictate the answers to the questions which
are supposed to come in the examinations. but for a healthy
learning, blackboard is only useful when the students are
not able to get the spelling of some words or during maths
 calculations and formullae etc.

Dear Mr. Pathak and other members of accessindia who may
 have similar queries.
Please refer to the RBI circular of 4th June and IBA
circular of 18th November 2008. Always take these to the
Bank with you and show them to the Banker.

Please understand that we have lots of rights but also keep
in mind that this is a transitionary phase. So push but dont
antagonise your banker. Work out a compromise solution. Also
share this solution with me on or off the list.

 1. Yes he is entitled to a cheque book. However you must
understand that it is going to be difficult for banks to
verify thumb impressions until the bio metric system is
 adopted.
 2. In the present case only to make life easy for him and
his banker get the cheque leaves filled up- i.e. put in the
name of the payee, date and the amount. Let him then put
his thumb impression in front of the Banker. Maybe you can
do this for 6-12 installments at a time. Keep the cheque
book very sately and issue the cheques every month to his
lender. Take the Bank into confidence and see how they
react. Rajesh had suggested this when we were drafting the
Guidelines. You could also use judgement of CCPD in
 Singhania's case.

 3. Of course the alternative to 2 above is give the
circulars and then make a fuss, explain, plead and fight
with the Bank. You might win but...
 4. One branch of Bank of Maharashtra in Mumbai allows thumb
impression on cheques without any other formalities. Our
member Vijay can confirm how many visually challenged have
 accounts with this branch.

 Let me know what happens.
Sorry for not responding to your private mail on my hotmail

Hi Friend,

Please change the format as Number, instead of General. First type the number,
then go to Cell format dialogBox by pressing control 1, when your cursor is in
that perticular Cell and do the necessary changes as I have mensioned above.
I hope this will help to you.

Subject: [AI] SBI account - problem with creating a
 profile password

Hi all,

My question is directed at those with online access
 to their SBI
 accounts:

I received my username and password for online
 access, and was also able
 to
successfully log into my SBI account. However,
 immediately on logging
 in, I
was asked to create a profile password. No matter
 what password I
 specify
here, it does not accept my password. I get the
 message 'the password in
 the
Profile password field should match the password in
 the Confirm profile
password field'. I of course made sure that it
did, but I get the same
message again and again. Also, I complied with all
 the rules -- the
 password
had letters, characters and symbols. It is very
 irritating not to be
 able to
get through this step as it is impossible to access
 my account
 information
without completing this step.

Any idea as to how I can solve this problem? Did any
 of you face a
 similar
problem when you first logged into your account?

Thanks,
Geetha

Hi Friends,

I am also being forced to come with any witness to withdraw the money from my
Dena Bank account.
I have shown them RBI Circular to them and requested to issue me me ChequeBook,
but, the BranchManager is arguing that the RBI has issued the Circular but,
bank has not yet clarified that how to confirm your thumb impression, so, How
can I issue the ChequeBook to you?

The same problem used to happen to me at SBM, but now I need
 not have
someone signing the withdrawal slip, as my a/c is converted
 to a joint
a/c with my wife. The embarrassing thing about this is that
 you have to
take someone working in the same organisation (not exactly
 colleagues)
along as witnesses for safety reasons and sometimes there
 are innocuous
questions as to what you do with the money etc.
 Principally, doing the
transaction without involving others is the best thing, but
 bankers must
 learn to respect us.

 Hi Mahesh,

As per guidelines pertaining to witness, it is not
 necessary for VI to
 bring
in a witness. Even a Bank official other than paying
 cashier can sign as
witness. this is applicable only in case of cash
 withdrawls. I think
 book
of instruction of every bank states it clearly.

technicaly its a one time activity. however my

I am afraid this means that the same kind of

 continued in a different

   the

 the

it by openning the new message. Just open the receved
message and press control shift R, and I think, you
will get desired result.
Hope this will help.
Regards,
Vijay Chavan.

 Mamta,
Well, this is what works for me.
When you are replying to particular message, pls do
 shift tab till you hear
from and then ensure that it goes from your desired
id by up arrow or down
 arrow.
 Hope this helps.

Subject: [AI] Problem in out look express.

  Hello,
From Past some days I am facing some problem
 with out look express. That
 is.
I have 6 accounts configured in out look
 express. And I have just
configured my new seventh I d.
And my Default I d is the fourth I d.
When I compose a new message it goes as it is
 suppose to from the
default I d. but, When I want to forward or reply to
 a mail then? Instead of
going from the same I d, from which the mail has
come? It just goes from the
new seventh I d. which I have just configured.
 Actually it should be going
from the I d from which that particular mail was
 received.
I have no clue why this is happening. And till
 I do not delete the
seventh I d. this problem does not get rectified.

Your help will surely be appreciated.
Regards
Mamta.
