Re: [AI] anybody working on sap with screen readers?

2011-11-02 Thread Saurabh Malav
JAWS scripts for SAP work with SAPGUI version 710 or higher. These scripts
have been written by SapLap company over last several years and I found it
really improved SAP accessibility and few VI folks were able to work on
that quite comfortably. Since all SAP framework based customized apps use
same SAPGUI interface so these scripts can work with all of them.

In addition you also need to turn accessibility mode on and new visual
design mode off within SAP configuration.
Last year I prepared a document with details of all required
configurations. If anyone is interested in that then let me know. Will try
to find out this and send to interested member.

Thanks,
Saurabh

Re: [AI] anybody working on sap with screen readers?

2011-11-02 Thread Sandeep Gautam
Dear Sir,

Platform on which internal employee service is being performed, I presume it is
different thing than working on SAP.
Internal Employee Service works more or less like internet.

We do have in NTPC, Employee Self Service (E S S) under SAP portal.
Person who can work on internet can work with it.
Although due to lack of knowledge about Visually Impaireds' requirement.
accessibility issues are there. But different techniques make it almost fully
accessible.

 Hi,
without going through its serious terminology and other compications:
SAP is basically a computer application platform on which various
 organisations perform their organisational work.

Though here in NTPC, we have SAP. But I never used it.
Mr. Prashant gave me some applications and scripts regarding SAP application
so that it canbe be used by VIs.
What I remind, it needs to be installed both on server and on individual
machine. Support of IT department is required.

 Hi,

I use SAP portayl 7 for internal employee service.

Pl. make necessary changes in IE by googling for a pdf “configuring
 jaws with sap”

It would make your portayl manageable.

I was best guided by Mr. Prashant Naik from XRCVC

It does involve updating of SAP GUI and configuration of many files.
