[AI] a problem with my dell vostro3500 laptop.

2024-07-18 Thread UDIT Pandey
hi all,
long story short, after changing my bio's battery (from the dell's official
store)as my laptop was not starting, they advised me to change the
connectr and the chargers. Because they were also faulty. I agreed with
them. Back home, the new original dell charger, insted of charging battery
in positives eg. from 40% to 41%, it was bringing it down from 40% to 39.
The person fixed that also.
then one sudden afternoon, I was working on that laptop. And suddenly it
went off. I was shocked as battery was fully charged, it was around 83%.
I plugged in the new charger. The laptop started working. But the problem
is that. It works only when the charger is connected. Whenever I press
insert plus shift plus b. It says 78%(the battery drained upto this level
on its own and reached at this percentage after 5 weeks) plugged in. And in
the power icon it shows available plugged in.
What and how to fix this problem. I also thought that the battery has a
problem. But the person in the dell store assured me that the battery is
perfectly fine. As, he checked in that negative charging problem.
Thanks,
Udit.

The slash key works for me in both chrome and firefox. When I press the slash,
focus moves to the search edit field. Then I type the search keywords and press
enter. ressing enter is not compusory though. The search result comes up
shortly.

Good Evening Everyone,
As the subject suggests, I have been facing a problem with the search
function of Gmail. It is showing 'Search Button Unavailable' and the edit
box is not showing up. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Re: [AI] A problem

2012-05-23 Thread Kotian, H P
Hi

When you are having someone with you, you can use the human guide technique.
Here, you should be holding the arm of your escort in such a way your fore arm
is parallel to the ground. You will be a step or two behind the escort. This
way through the body movement of the escort you can judge when you need to go
up or down. Even if the escort forgets to inform you it is fine. Ideally, it is
better the escort pauses for a moment before ascending or descending. You can
walk with grace this way.

This will not work if your escort holds your arm. This is the wrong way to lead
a blind person.

You can carry the folding cane with you and put it use whenever the occasion
demands it.
Harish Kotian.

Hi Mohit,
it is just lack of communication nothing elce. Yes it is very much
possible that you should clearly tell your friends about your
situation then surely they will be glad to help you. And I totally
agree with Kavitha mam, these so called sighted people don't like that
a person walking with them should carry a white cane. You can also use
cane. I have just started using it in march this year. And honestly
now I feel that cane is my vehicle as well as licence of going out

Actually our friends have no mistake in it. Gredually We are habitual

so they understand we can hendle this situation.
It's true, to using cane in such cases to avoid such situations and be

On Sunday, for example, I had gone to Subway.
We were just waiting outside and talking.

When we were going back, they again went ahead and when I accidentally
stepped on a stair, I realized that there was a staircase.
Then, one of them came forward to help me.

Has anyone else faced something like this?
Can you give any suggestions?

Hi all,

When I go out with my friends, they often forget to, you know, hold my
hand and take me along.this is common problem.
This, you know, kind of creates awkward situations.
I am partially blind, so I do have some usable vision.
Perhaps, due to this, they sometimes forget that I need to be led by someone.

On Sunday, for example, I had gone to Subway.
We were just waiting outside and talking.
Then, we decided to go inside.
My friends just went to the table, and I was left in front of the door

Then, one of them came forward to help me.

Can you give any suggestions?

[AI] A problem while scanning.

2011-09-28 Thread Phen Varghese
Dear all,

I had scanned my BIOS.
When I was scanning an errore box came and it was written system
reboot media is not found.
What should I do in this case?
The problem is that my system gets hanged when I go through the
different files in windows explorer.
I had already formatted the system.
Should I format it again?
It is happening to all the drives in the windows explorer.
After it gets hanged I have to either press alt f4 and even if I press
that I wont be able to open windows explorer.
It will say the remote procedure failed and cannot execute.
To open windows explorer I scan my computer to open it.
I have tryed most of the steps.
Is there any other solution?
Hope that you can help me in this.

Re: [AI] a problem with RCI's website

2011-09-16 Thread Amar Jain
That is the most interesting thing which these institutions do. Look at
NHFDC notification of scollarship, again inaccessible. You will find many
examples. We say that world is not sensitized towards us, but the so called
organizations working for us are also not sensitized properly. Another good
example is your CCPD website! Another one is your original circular of UGC
about computer examination!
Anyways, coming to point, convert the PDF using OCR software like fine
reader or kurzweil. Depending on your choice, you will get it in word format
and then you can read it.
If at all you are on Jaws 13 public beta, then use the OCR feature which has
been introduced in it.

Subject: [AI] a problem with RCI's website

Hi friends,
When I tried to read the notification of the Rehabilitation Council of
India, inviting applications to start courses for the disabled, I
found it to be inaccessable, since it was an image file. I don't know
how to read an image pdf file. Have anyone of you any idea of reading
it? If not, why this discrimination to the VIs?

Re: [AI] a problem in the spell check in ubuntu

2010-06-04 Thread Arpit Jain
Hi!

Open office is default application which comes preinstalled with
Ubuntu and I guess you must be using the word processor of the same.
I'm afraid that not many are using Ubuntu on Ai, but what I can
suggest is that you can try going through the documentation of that
word processor, may be it could be of some use or this can be a bug
with open office as well..
May be someone already using Ubuntu can come forward and explain this issue..

Hi:

The Backspace is working in Hindu’s beta website very well with IE 8.
but the advantage with old website is that, we need not to press
Backspace every time after reading the news item, instead after
reading a news item, just press L to go to list of headlines in the
page. After reading a news item, you can also press Shift + V to go to
the headline link of the present news article. Just press down arrow
to move to the next headline link.

Hi Renuca,

Yes it indeed happens with the new site. That's why I am still using the old
site. But here is something that you can try it out. Keep the original page
hntact and open the news item in a new browser window. Simply return to the
original page after you finish reading that item by pressing control+w and you
will be possisioned on the visited link. It certainly works with ie 7, but try
to see if it works with mosilla as well.

[AI] a problem in reading the hindu news paper

2009-09-09 Thread Renuka Warrier
Hi friends,

from the launch of the new beta website I am facing a problem in reading the
Hindu news paper. i.e., whenever I exit from a news which has been read,
pressing back space, the focus immediately shifts to the top of the home page
of the paper instead of the news which I have read and I have to tab over to
the news which makes the reading less easier than before. Does anybody face
such problem? Is there any solution for it? I am using the mossila firefox
3.526 as my web browser.

Renuka.

Hi

I don't think rules are any different for private banks from that of
nationalised banks.

Moreover, we've recently succeeded by opening a joint account with
ICICI bank where both the account holders were blind. But even that
was not a cake walk for us and we had to take that to the notice of
ombudsman.

so, same procedure, first write to the higher officials of that bank,
and if things aren't settled, write to the ombudsman.

And I feel it would be better for you if you make it clear to them
that you are going to take it to the ombudsman. May be they would
respond hearing such statement from you.

[AI] A Problem in Outlook Express

2008-09-24 Thread ashik
Dear Friends,
I have been facing a problem in the Outlook Express for several days. I have
got several folders in it. Earlier, in any of these folders, when I hit the
delete button placing the cursor on any mail, it used to be deleted straight
away. But now, when I hit the delete button, it asks for confirmation whether I
want to delete it permanently from the computer. Earlier, when I deleted a
mail, it used to go to the "Deleted items" folder. But now, it is deleted
permanently bypassing the "Deleted items" folder. Moreover, when I get out of a
particular folder [for example: my voice of vision folder], I land in the
deleted items folder. How has this happened? Any idea? How can I restore the
earlier status? Please help me out.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Subject: [AI] a problem in opening the links in the hindu

Hi friends,
I used to read the Hindu news paper every day, but from yesterday onwards,
whenever I tried to open the links of the states, this dialogue appears
"Error - http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pag...
We can't find  "http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pag...";
Error - Invalid syntax
http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-6238405171313215&dt=1197439591500&lmt=1197409562&prev_fmts=468x60_
Find It".

What could be the meaning of it? Does everybody face this problem? Is
there any remedy for it?

Hoping for a favourable reply,

Renuka.

That is usually done. But from yesterday onwards, even after doing this,
the news is not being displayed. This problem is only for the links of the
states. No problems is there in opening the other links like the national
link, front page, science and technology etc. don't know what is to be
done.

[AI] A Problem with compacting mesages.

2006-10-02 Thread Mamta
Hello accessindia Member's.

I use out look express as my default e mail programme.
2 days back While closing my computer. A message came saying that
(To free up disk space you can compact messages this may take up to few
minutes.)
I generally always cancel this message and close out look express. but this
time incidentally I this time pressed enter on the ok butten.
and so it started compacting my messages. I just closed my computer in the
middle of the process.
so all folders are not compacted. now My question,
1. I want to get all the mail messages back. as I can see that the size of the
d b x folder's are large which means that those mails are surely there.
2. How can I get it?
3. What steps should I follow to get back mails from all my folder's back in
the same folder?
any help will surely be appreciated.
many thanks
in advance
Always be happy and keep smiling.
Have a wonderful day,
Regards
Mamta.
