RE: [AI] Axess India WhatsApp group
Hi everybody, Even if our Admin wants to create a Whatsapp group, I appeal that we should not give up the E-mail mailing-list. It definitely has benefits to keep the E-mail list going because: 1. It has a very long history; 2. It is familiar technology on every platform and many mail clients; 3. Things like configuring message rules for storing group mail, searching through old messages and archiving mailboxes is convenient; 4. Mailing list functions such as changing to daily digest mode, vacation mode Etc is possible; 5. It is a unique platform with its own feel and preference for many of the veterins and senior citizens among the blind community who have experience and wisdom we should not want to lose, which can happen if we drop this E-mail list method. Just my thoughts. All the best. Excellent Harish Sir: I heartily second the motion lock stock and barrel. There are millions of Whatsapp groups out there floating around and we do not want one more especially since the Access India mailing list is already performing a stellar job. As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Those Gen Z Access India members, for instance, who are constantly clambering for an official Access India group need to know that once they complete their education and are ready to join the ranks of public or private corporations, the government or even institutions of higher learning, it is going to be email officially all the way. Access India provides our junior members, who are in high school or college, with an excellent platform to go beyond the surface level when it comes to email messaging and deep dive into its various features and aspects including the use of mail clients. These are critical milestones for those eyeing high end roles in both the public and private sectors.
