Hi Ankit
That sounds comforting regarding privacy. However, can you let us know of some
scenarios where we can use it apart from knowing about PWD act and what other
assistants fail to do.

This can help us where and how to explore this tool.

Dear saloni,

Thanks for your mail.

Yes, the chatbot can be accessed via Facebook Messenger. It does not
support voice and other smart capabilities as of now. however, One can
type in the composer as you do in any other messaging app and seek
information from Mera Mitra on Facebook Messenger.

You can look up for Mera Mitra in Facebook Messenger and you will find
it in the search result.

Re: [AI] Disability related chat bot

2019-05-13 Thread Kotian, H P

Hi
I did try it on Google assistant.
The registration process was rather simple. However, I was unhappy that it
needed to have access to my contact card. I would have ordinarily declined but
to try this app, I consented. I think the developer should remove this
requirement.

The interaction with chatbot was smooth. However, when I told it to send the
information by email, it simply got overwhelmed and loged out.

I suppose, the developers should have taken a little more time before going
live. I certainly back the efforts and it can become very handy tool. There are
lot more cenerios where it can be effectively used. It is a step in the right
direction and the tool can grow better only if we use it extensively.

However, I do insist the requirement of taking access to our contact should be
dropped.

Regards
Harish

Hi Ankit & Pratik,
Kudos! A single-stop access to information platform is much required.
Is it possible to access this information via a mechanism that does not invoke
the google assistant? Maybe a hangouts chatbot or a web portal?
Please let me know.

Hi Ankit & Pratik,
Kudos! A single-stop access to information platform is much required.
Is it possible to access this information via a mechanism that does not
invoke the google assistant? Maybe a hangouts chatbot or a web portal?
Please let me know.

[AI] Disability related chat bot

2019-05-13 Thread Kotian, H P

All
I guess, this info would interest everyone.
Harish.

A chatbot for all your disability-information needs

Ask a question related to RPWD Act 2016 or read a section, for example "section
28".
Know about concepts related to disability such as assistive technology,
accessibility, etc.
And much more, including important disability dates, for example "when is the
World Disability Day?"

Basically, everything about disability you always wanted to ask but never knew
whom to ask or do not have access to people who can provide you the answers in
a simple language.

The chatbot is an invaluable resource for persons with disability, disability
advocacy groups, organizations working in this field, employers, and for every
one of those who has a friend, family or a colleague with disability.

Here is an introductory video on the Mera Mitra chatbot.

Introduction to Mera Mitra

How to use Mera Mitra.

Since it is a chatbot that you can use within Google Assistant you don't need
to install an extra app on your mobile phone. Just do the following in the
beginning:

Invoke the Google Assistant app by either saying "OK Google" or by tapping the
Google Assistant icon/ button on your device.
If the Google Assistant app is in the listening mode, say "talk to Mera Mitra".
Since you will be using the chatbot for the first time, it will prompt you to
register your name which simply takes a single tap.

That's it. The next time you need to ask something of Mera Mitra simply say,
"OK Google, talk to Mera Mitra".

After that, the chatbot will prompt you to ask your question and it will give
you the answer.

Alternatively, you can also type in the Google Assistant app to invoke and
interact with Mera Mitra. Open the Google Assistant app on your mobile phone,
use the composer below & write "talk to Mera Mitra" and hit the send button.
Follow the prompts to set up your account and that's it. You can chat with Mera
Mitra using text inputs as you chat with any other friend.

So, what are you waiting for? "Talk to Mera Mitra" now!

Disclaimer: The Mera Mitra chatbot is still at its nascent stage, you can
easily call it a work in progress. We are constantly adding new capabilities to
it. We welcome suggestions and inputs from you so that we can make this chatbot
more powerful.
