[AI] ETickets in IndianRailways for VI

2009-03-31 Thread Rohith P
dear listers
Is it possible to book train ticket online availing concession.
I tried booking ETicket using the IRCTC.CO.IN but was not given the
option to specify concession. If there is no such provision, don't you
think it's high time that we collectively demanded extending ETicket
facility to the VI and other PWDS. This will be a great help as it
reduces a lot of unnecessary travel and inconvenience. This will also
help many of us as some of the booking clarks are not aware of the
rules and regulations GOVERNING concession to PWDs.
I have faced some problems in booking tickets with concession from
several railway stations in hyderabad, to be specific Lingampally,
Chandaanagar and secanderabad stations. After my repeated attempts,
the booking counter at lingampally, which was the closest to my
location, became fairly responsible and helpful. Now that I've shifted
my residence I am facing it with my new local station.
looking forward to have your experiences and thoughts
regards
rohith

nothing seem to be worked out yet. Also, you may read my blog post at

2009-03-31 Thread Deepak Singla
Dear Brother

One can not book tickets online with concessions for VI. You have to
book tickets only from the counter. As you said it will be of a great
help if we are able to get our railway tickets booked online. But till
date there is no facility available.

Thanks
Deepak

Re: [AI] ETickets in IndianRailways for VI

2009-04-01 Thread Janardhana Naidu

Hello learned colleagues,
It is right time to demand the railway authorities to extend E ticket
booking facility to physically challenged persons. We should demand them to
issue an identity card with unique number which we can use for E ticket
booking or to accept concision certificate or medical certificate as a proof
of our disability. I hope our NGOs should respond to this burning issue and
submit proposals to railway authorities.

With kind regards,
G. Janardhana Naidu.

Its a marvelous idea. Not only for railways, it is better if the government
gives multy identity cards which useful for railways medical certificates

Re: [AI] ETickets in IndianRailways for VI

2009-04-02 Thread Vijay Kumar P.V.S.
Yes we should fight collectively for this very good cause. I have a
doubt. Can we race this demand through any legal channel? I mean if
the central government wouldn’t listen to us, can we take this issue
to the court? I strongly believe that, technology without right
attitude is a waste. Thanks to technology that a visually challenged
person is doing wonders through technology. But still we are facing so
many problems because of the attitudinal barriers in the society. The
present issue is just an example of this problem in our society. I
hope that, we will solve this railway online reservation problem.

With warm regards
VIJAY

Hello chandu,
That's why I proposed for multy identity cards. If soa commity consisting
many doctors and other officials will issue cards. therefore we need not
worry for all these things. What you have raged the thing is bitter but
exceptable. The defination of handicapped should be rewritten. If the new
act takes place to replace 1995 act; then we can expect something. but we
should not stop our struggle until our problems solved.

Hello learned colleagues,
It is right time to demand the railway authorities to extend E ticket
booking facility to physically challenged persons. We should demand
them

to issue an identity card with unique number which we can use for E
ticket

booking or to accept concision certificate or medical certificate as a
proof of our disability. I hope our NGOs should respond to this
burning

issue and submit proposals to railway authorities.

dear listers
Is it possible to book train ticket online availing concession.
I tried booking ETicket using the IRCTC.CO.IN but was not given the
option to specify concession. If there is no such provision, don't
you

think it's high time that we collectively demanded extending ETicket
facility to the VI and other PWDS.
Now that I've
shifted

my residence I am facing it with my new local station.
looking forward to have your experiences and thoughts
